It has been a bit since I've posted in the chatroom, but I knew that this was the place to come for some farmgirl support!

Some time back, I've posted about the desire to find the right farm location to expand our current floral business and be able to host weddings. We'll, long story short, this has been quite a process, and we are on the cusp of possibly making a move. I have a short little post about it on my blog, but I've also submitted my "idea" to a fund raising company - which is where I'm asking for some farmgirl help.

Now until the deadline of this Thursday at noon, we have our "idea" submitted on Start Garden (amazing organization) for funding consideration. There are two ways to receiving funding. The Start Garden team chooses your idea OR you receive the majority of endorsements from the voting public (that's you!!!). Would you please take a moment to look at the "ideas" that are presented this week, and if you like the Forrester Farm idea the best... vote!

The Start Garden site is: http://startgarden.com

Knowing the farmgirl way of thinking - I'm thanking you in advance for support!!! Blessings,

Ann

Thank you so much for all of your amazing support on our run for the Forrester Farm Start Garden funding this week. Two great ideas were chosen, and ours wasn't one of them. Bummer. We can run one more time, but will wait for now.

Just realized 1 vital detail - due to the widespread wings that MaryJanesFarm connection has... The voting ends at noon in Michigan (Eastern time! in just 1 1/2 hours from the time of this posting).

Blessings and thanks in advance for the support! Here is the link one last time: http://startgarden.com/ideas/detail/forrester-farm

Ok ladies, this is the last post about voting for our idea - I promise! The voting ends today at noon and it could mean investment seed money for a Forrester Farm expansion. Regardless of what happens, my husband and I decided to place an offer on the property tomorrow. Excited. Nervous. Praying God's will be done. The property is in short sale, so it could take some time.

If you'd like to help in the last hurrah of voting (via facebook), please go to this link: http://startgarden.com/ideas/detail/forrester-farm

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Just a little update... My husband and I feel that making this leap is... a leap, but a leap worth taking. We are in agreement and want to make it happen, but just need a little extra boost (push?) - SO, We are running a second time with Start Garden - for investment "seed money". The Start Garden rules are that you can endorse 1 idea 1 time per week via facebook only. Please check out the ideas for the week and hit "endorse" if you like what you see for Forrester Farm. Here's the link: http://startgarden.com/ideas/detail/forrester-farm

I'm sure that all of the farmgirls who love glamping would love another friend's business that was recently funded - Retro Rentals, a vintage camper rental company.

If the picture in my mind matches what I hope will happen with our expansion, I'd love to host a Farmgirl Gathering. Years ago, when Mary Jane put a request out for farms that might host a get together, I so wanted to be able to do that. This additional space would be just the place - for campers too :)!

Thanks all for your support! Blessings,

Ann

Laurie and Marly,
Thank you for the encouragement. I'm not sure if we'll re-submit the idea to Start Garden, but we did tell the property owners that we would make a decision by April 8 regarding whether or not we will submit an offer on the property. If we decide not to, they will list it with an agent. My husband and I just need to be on the same page and we are praying through the decision.

Keep us posted, Ann. I tried to vote, also, but was too late. Hugs.

Ann,
I am sorry that your idea didn't win this week. I think it is a fabulous idea, and sounds like a lovely vision.
I tried to vote but don't have Facebook, so realized I couldn't :(.
I wish you luck in your quest to expand your business.
Hugs,

I am humbled beyond words for your support on your blog. Thank you so much! I just saw the blog today, and was truly touched... ok, to the point of tears... happy ones!

The voting ended today at noon. Two other ideas won the support this week - Congratulations to them. We can submit our idea 2 more times. I'll keep you posted when we do. Thank you for all of the support in this round of voting!

What a blessing the farmgirl connection is!

Diane,
Thanks for asking. If you go to the Start Garden site ( http://startgarden.com/ ), click on "ideas". Forrester Farm is one of 23 ideas. The voting ends tomorrow at noon. I'm feeling a little exposed and nervous as I keep praying about the whole thing. We went through the house and property again on Monday. I told the owner that we would have a decision to them very soon. Thank you so much for taking the time to check it out!
