How about we celebrate the jubilee with a "fairy" garden. Miniature banners, barns, animals, etc. These gardens are really hot in our area and it will remind me how much fun MJF is to us. Anyone interested in the idea?

Marilyn,,, what are 'morninga' trees?
I do miss some of the lovely plants that I could grow back in SO. Cal, zone 8-9, up here I am a zone-4A which does limit me....

My mini garden is not a fairy garden but veggies. I used the supplement tubs left from my husband feeding his horses. So far I have yellow squash in two tubs, cantaloupe in one, cucumbers in three tubs, one tub has two acorn and two butternut squash, one has some tomatoes. Then I have not peppers and tomatoes in a water trough. The other has strawberries, radishes and mint. Then in my very raised bed I have more tomatoes and flowers! I love flowers. For
Jubilee I plan to start some morninga trees. I know they are a tropical plant but here's in Texas it gets pretty hot in the summer so we shall see.

I am delighted to see that the potential for sharing my first one is here! I will post pictures and further plans as they develope through the season. Unfortunately I summer over in Massatuchett and it isn't cohesive to settings out my things yet! Thank you for explaining the post and I did read up on,skeps, only decorative is allowed I am told! That's cool! I know what they are and have seen them in sizes all over the place in our area as lawn decorations! It's a big learning curve for me as I am a fisher gal turn urban grower/ new Farmgirl!

Vicki, Annie is my 3 year old German Shepard Rhodesian Ridgeback Hound mix - my companion and protector. My mini garden is looking pretty good with clover and moss taking over since the hen n/ chickens died. I keep the clover to one side of the mini garden. It's in a old cream & green enamelware container. I may or may not get around to replacing the hen n/ chickens. This is the 4th Jubilee I've had the mini-garden.

At Dollar General I found a wee water pump with basket of berries and a wee garden sign with garden tools. Will add them to my mini-garden as soon as I find a place for it. Annie has found it where it is and likes to run off with the wee table & chair. She hasn't bother them since the last time I scolded her but who knows when or if she will do it again.

Grace hope they are okay. Last year I made a wee bee skep for my mini-garden out of jute wound around a large wood bead covered with white glue. Checked on it today and the bee skep has held up but is darker. Can't believe the white glue lasted through rain and our Texas heat.

All of my hen n/ chickens I planted in my mini-garden are all dead so I will have to replant in the spring. They lasted for three years so I figure that's pretty good considering they wintered over outside. Mini-gardens are fun and I think I will stick with hens n/ chickens.

Yesterday I made a mini garden flag for my mini-garden and the garden skep.

I dug around in my fabric stash and found a little piece with a skep and bees on it. Perfect for the mini garden flag. Backed it with a piece of green cloth-backed table cloth and hung on a long garden staple.

The skep's base is a 2" seed pod the shape of a skep - wound it with jute.

Only a couple of hen n/ chicks survived the winter so I will have to replace them and the garden will be finished. The wee cowboy cactus and wee twig chair and table are already in place.

I think I am going to try to make a bee skep with twine and see how it goes. Should work in a mini garden.
