I thinking of and praying for you and your mom and family, Grace! This can't be easy for you. But, you will never regret it!

Debbie, the blanket looks beautiful on that cutie pie!

Linda,
Its a stand alone bag. the pattern was ok, pictures of how she actually did some of the steps would have helped. Sewing through 3 layers of the soft and stable and the fabric was probably the worst part. It was like a wrestling match!. The outside binding around the sides and bottom I was able to to use the machine to sew it on but had to hand sew to finish it which was also like a wrestling match. So it was labor intensive, but I think it turned out ok. It matches my machine mat so I suppose it was worth it. I put it away for awhile so I can appreciate it later.

Thank you, Denise! Your caddy looks GREAT! But it looks like it wasn't easy!
quiltee Posted - Jan 02 2017 : 5:07:57 PM
Is that one of those that goes into a large purse? Or a standalone bag? What was the problem with making the bag - was the pattern not well written? I've had that happen a lot.

Happy New Year everyone! Wow have we been busy, so many wonderful things!! Ending the year, I repaired my granddaughter's backpack and made a water bottle holder for daughter #2's crutches. She will be having knee surgery soon and asked if I could make her something to carry stuff.

Today I finished my craft room. So I am ready to start on my UFO's for 2017. Are we going to have a new thread or continue with this one? I think that I do need to make a list and see where I am and what I have to complete. I have been living in a cramp space for a couple of years and then the last few months out of a suitcase. The house is done on the main floor and I can finally move in.

I used that wonderful quiet time between Christmas and New Years to write out a list of things I wanted to get done this year. While I am not going to do an entire homemade Christmas, I do hope to make one thing for each person in my family. This year is going to be my year instead. I am going to get some projects done as gifts for myself, like a lovely embroidered needle case for my sewing box. First, I am going to get my craft room turned back into my artist retreat zone.

May we all have a wonderful and productive year. I am looking forward to seeing everyone's projects.

Thank you, Judith!
Yes, Sherri....I hear you! The Homespun Christmas badge was a huge project! I was in such a mode of working, working, stitching, stitching...that when I was finally done, I really wasn't sure of what to do with myself! I've been enjoying the quiet time between Christmas and New Year's.
I have a new list going of projects for 2017 and I plan on locking myself in my sewing room this afternoon and working on some Valentine's projects that I have wanted to do for a LONG time! But this year, I am going to slow down and enjoy the process more!
quiltee Posted - Jan 01 2017 : 10:14:43 AM
I completed quite a few of my list. Now to start a new list. LOL!

Happy New Year!!!!
I wish I had finished more projects in 2016, but in some ways I'm just glad the year is over and we get to start over!
I need to:
Finish the "carry all caddy" I started, my sis ted has given me permission to toss this one if it does not turn out, it has been a total pain in the #$%.
Girl scout day camp t-shirt quilt for may daughter.
Tree skirt needs to be quilted.
BOM blocks from 2016...
ETC

Have a great new year!!

And my last one...this baby blanket wasn't even on my radar to finish this year. I started it when we were waiting for my oldest grandson to be born...he was 5 in July! My daughter's best friend was expecting a baby boy this month and one of her favorite colors is navy blue....so I had the perfect gift to finish for her. No one in her family does handmade things and she loves them.....so I'm glad that I was able to finish it for her.

This shawl was a real learning experience!!! But I am so happy with the way that it turned out! BTW....when the pattern says use CONTRASTING yarn to cast on, please do...!
