Let me know if you would be interested in doing a mini apron swap. Sign-ups start now. We would like 15-20 people (or 15-20 sets - you can sign up to do 2 sets).

NOTE: The 15-20 is an approximate number - it depends on the number who sign up. If we do not get that many after the 2-week sign-up period, we will go with how many we have. However, we will stop at 20!

The first swap will be for aprons with typical apron fabrics. Then, if there is continued interest, we can do swaps for Patriotic, Halloween, Christmas, and Western styles.

NOTE: There are patterns available for mini-apron ornaments - Simplicity 1957 and Simplicity 2748. There are also free crochet patterns on Pinterest. You can use these or design your own half-aprons.

Sign-ups start now: January 18
Sign-ups end: Noon, Wednesday, February 1
Mail out by: Wednesday, March 1
NOTE: I would like your aprons, postage and return envelope BEFORE March 10 so I can sort them and mail them back out.

Here are the criteria:
1. You will make 15-20 mini aprons (depending on signups). Apron size is approx. 5" wide and 5-6" long depending on style ... not including the ties... ties on each side should be about 6-8"(not incl.waistband) so the aprons can be tied onto a object for display. You might want to add a pocket and tuck a little note inside. You will be getting one of your 20 back.
2. You will send me your set of 15-20 aprons.
3. You will send a Self-addressed, stamped envelope with the same amount of postage as your envelope costs to mail, + $1.00 to cover the cost of mailing your 20 different aprons back to you. The extra dollar will cover possible different trims other aprons may have that would add weight.
4. I will divide up the mini aprons, and mail 15-20 mini aprons back to you.

So - please let me know of your interest. I will list names of those interested and we will go for it!

Let's have some fun with these!

She surprised me when she said that because she has traveled abroad many times. They also do big road trips, to brick swaps, presidential museums, etc.

I think there are other areas more unsafe than Europe right now. We still want to go to Australia/New Zealand, Ireland, Germany, Mediterranean, etc.

It is a term I have heard before. It fits you.
Since you enjoy traveling, you need to do so while you have the energy and good health. A friend and her husband also travel a lot. She told me recently that they probably have 15 more years. He just turned 65. She loves to go to Europe, but the other day I was so surprised to hear her say it is just not that safe at the moment.

Thanks, Marilyn. Did you see that "hostess with the mostest" in print somewhere? LOL!

I am about to think that I need to cut back and find other hostesses for the 10" squares, BOM, and mini aprons (though I think the aprons will be over after Christmas). Our aprons are going to encircle our houses soon. LOL! It is a great way to use up our fabric stashes.

Ed and I like to travel and it is getting hard to keep up with everything. I am 4 months behind making the BOMs. In fact, I want to make some of them today.

Well Linda, looks like you are the "hostess with the mostest" swaps going on for the past year or so. I want you to know that I love our fabric swaps and I also love making mini aprons. Thank you so much for spending your time organizing them, giving examples, and just making every swap so much fun. Friend and farm girl hugs coming your way.

I have to assume that everyone has gotten their aprons by now. Quite a few never responded that they had received their aprons. Thank you for joining in. I hope you will join one of the last 4 swaps - Animal prints, fancy, Fall, and Christmas.

I don't know how many of you found MaryJane's post about our mini aprons. You can find it here on page 3 -http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?whichpage=3&TOPIC_ID=77798#926406 - on page 3.

I'm glad she got them and is using them to help celebrate the Jubilee this year.

Joyce -

I'm so so glad they finally arrived! I hope they enjoyed their overseas vacation. It sure took Canadian customs a long time.

You sent just enough. You will always get one of yours back, unless you do NOT send enough. It is easier for me, when sorting, to have one for every swapper.

Joyce, that is good news. Your aprons have a story to tell about their great and very long adventure.
March 10th until April 13 th. Is that 35 days??? Crazy.

It went overseas because somehow - when it got to Chicago - it was put into the wrong bin, and so it went to Europe instead of to Toronto.

Maybe they opened the package and are admiring the tiny aprons. Just kidding. Why did it go overseas anyway?

No, I haven't. I asked in the past, and they just said to check online, as what they see is what I see, and they don't have any other information.

I'm so sorry the aprons have taken so long to reach you. Have you spoken with someone from your local PO? Sometimes they can get more info than we can see on line.

I'm not sure, Linda. They probably have some sort of issue with it because it went on such a side route. I'm really hoping they will clear soon. It will take about 3-4 days from clearance date to get here.

Linda, just wanted you to know that I received my aprons. I have to put a lot of projects on hold for the moment, but should be able to get back to them within a few weeks once I heal from surgery.

Hi Linda - that's the processing plant - it's stuck in customs right now :( Awaiting eagerly for it to be cleared!! When it does, it usually takes about 4-5 days from there to me.
