A little Jubilee history for our new FarmGirls.

In 2015 a movement on the Farm was afoot to celebrate MaryJane's birthday. MaryJane joined in with let's celebrate her birthday and Queen Elizabeth's 50 Jubilee and we did it in style.

There's a badge for the Jubilee.

In 2016 the Jubilee theme was 'In Celebration of Aprons' and it was like all Jubilees celebrated the week of MaryJane's birthday - May 6.

Though there will be a theme for 2017 each FarmGirl celebrates it in her own way. We share ideas, make plans, and do a lot of talking about the Jubilee. There's not a theme yet, but there is still a lot of planning and doing that can be done. I'll freshen up or redo what I did last year and think of new ways I want to celebrate.

So far two ideas have been talked about:
Jubilee Mini Garden by Sara 'YellowRose'
Mini Apron Banner by Grace 'Katmom - Sara 'YellowRose' - Shannon 'hudsonsinaf'

As we draw closer to May there will be more interest in the Jubilee but for us who like to get a head start this is the place to come to tell us your dreams and plans for Jubilee 2017.

I just hit the hi-points of the Jubilee so I will appreciate any thoughts you may have on what new FarmGirls need to know about joining in on Jubilee 2017.

Oh MaryJane... I live it... "eat dessert first"... as it should be!

We had scones (left over from yesterday)... with our a.m. java.... ...and since it rained I decided to make a 1/2 batch of sweet corn bread this afternoon...planted some more Zinnias whilst the cornbread was baking in the oven...best smell when I walked into the house...yum!

And now I am off to my sewing room to stitch up some more mini aprons... even tho it was gloomy and drizzly out... it was still a great Jubilee day.

Thank you, thank you girls for your b-day wishes. My daughter and I just got back from a long walk. More food soon! Breakfast (and that second cup of coffee) was awesome, served to me by my son-in-law. Dessert first, yes! (Or at least a bite or two of chocolate.) Happy Jubilee. My hens for some reason gave me double the amount of eggs they usually do today and I just put 8 gallons of milk from this morning's milking in the cooler. Life is good. So far today it's been a Jubilee Just BE Day. Hope yours has been likewise.

I did get eggs from my neighbor in my egg-gathering apron . . . the pic is in the "Happy Jubilee" weekend thread.

And, this morning, another neighbor's two pet geese were in our front yard. Never seen them over here before. One gray and one white and they are so noisy! The gray one likes to try to come after my dog!

Well said Winnie - I echo your remarks.

Tomorrow is the opening of our Farmer's Market so I hope to find something special to cook with cilantro for Sunday's lunch. I have a new Linda 'Quiltee' apron to wear so I will be cooking in Jubilee style.

Ok Farmgirls, are we ready to CELEBRATE TOMORROW??? CeeJay, I think Grace is on to something about using our egg gathering aprons for chocolate storing!! LOL!! For those of us without chickens or veggies, chocolates are also a food group last time I checked!!

I am ready to celebrate ALL of YOU, my Farmgirl friends and all of the fun, love, and support we have together here at the MJF Chatroom! I don't know about you, but this experience has changed my life is so many ways and I feel so blessed to have met so many wonderful women who have enriched and inspired me.

Yup, Gracie . . . we all need more silliness. I'll see what I can do.

OR, another neighbor is giving me some eggs. I could wear the apron to his house and put them in the apron pockets instead of using a carton. Hmmmmm . . . now that's an idea!

I receiving an egg-gathering apron as a gift last year, but I don't have chickens or eggs to gather. I do, however, have fresh eggs delivered to me by my neighbor who does have chickens. Perhaps I could just put her eggs in my apron and wear it around for a bit just for fun! Silly me!

Ohh, I am behind on seeing the photos of your office area, MaryJane, all fixed up with darling mini aprons! So cute and colorful. Grace and Linda you both did such a great job on those apron banners too.

And a Birthday Shout out to both MaryJane and Carole for this upcoming weekend as well. What a perfect way to celebrate the Jubilee. Birthday fun and Jubilee celebrations!

As for my plans so far, I have my Basil plant that is doing so well that I have picked some to dry. WooHoo! Organic Basil is so awesome to have right out on the patio. Next up will be hanging a check apron on the flag pole that was gifted to me from Denise, Levisgrammy, a few years ago in a swap. I also have a dear friend coming on Sunday to spend the night enroute to her nursing conference. She was my first Farmgirl Friend before I even knew about MaryJanesFarm and she helped me with my first efforts to can jam with Florida Muscadine grapes. My daughter just brought me a big bag of some yellow squash from their garden and so I think I am going to make a pan of southern squash casserole for our neighborhood picnic on Sunday afternoon. I am planning to wear my egg gathering apron that CeeJay made me from last year's Jubilee theme all weekend long! Sure wish I had some hens to provide me with eggs to gather.

We're thinking apple pies, maybe cherry also. Banana bread French toast for breakfast. Aprons, daffodil bouquets, little baby calves and a picnic. What we really want to conjure up is some sunshine this coming weekend. We've had too much rain this year. Happy B-day to Carol this coming weekend. She has out-of-town friends coming who I know know how to frolic, make merry, and play lots of music, Jubilee-style.

Grace, you're all set for the Jubilee. Love the rooster.

With all my planning I hadn't given thought to what to cook special. I may just copy Grace and make scones - I have MJF scone mix. That's no brainer - I'll do scones. Thanks Grace.

I finished my two mini aprons to fly over my two Boston ferns. And they are flying high. Sixteen mph wind blowing across my front porch today. Hesitated about putting them out but what a better test to see if they will hold up. Most days there's wind of some sort. So far they are still there.
