Did you see the new merit badges for 2018?!

- Bibliophile Badging
- Civics Challenge
- Reading, 'Riting, Rythmatic
- Palate Pleasers
- Carpe Cocoa
- Through The Looking Glass
- Jewelry Making
- Farmgirl's Best Friend
- Geography
- Buzzin' Around

How exciting! Can I tell you how excited I am for the Carpe Cocoa Merit Badge! I love chocolate and would love to learn how to make ganache. I watch bakers make it on the cooking channel and always tell myself I am going to learn how.

I also made a New Years resolution to read more books this year and have talked with my neighbor about starting a book club, so it's perfect that Bibliophile Badging Merit Badge fits my goals. Not only will I meet a personal goal, I will accomplish another badge.

Anyone planning on working on one of the new badges? Which one?

Hay there.

I, too, have many started badges with only a tad bit to do to finish and submit them. Mz Debbie, you mentioned a Badge Binder.....could you elaborate a little more for me. What are you using and how do you keep track, etc. I am hoping to get better organized and get them accomplished. Any and all help would be appreciated. I like the new ones for 2018. They will fun to work on.

Hugs,

I agree. Winter is the perfect time to do reading. I hope you can find the book and get started soon. Keep us posted on how the badge is coming along.

Krista, Ok I've looked over all the new merit badges. I really want to start with the Carpe Cocoa one. I'm going to check at my local library to see if they have it or Wonderbooks if they do not. Winter is a great time for reading for me so this one is up my ally so far.

Tiana, here is the link to all the merit badges. http://www.farmgirlsisterhood.org/merit-badges.asp

I agree Winnie and Dianna! Life gets crazy and the merit badges end up on the back burner. Hoping this year I can stay on track and get around to them.

Way to go Deb! I'm so glad you have the help of Farmgirl Sisters to get you going.

Yes, I was amazed at all the new topics added this year! It has me thinking I need to get busy and commit to doing a few of them. It seems I always have my nose in a book or my knitting needles are busy making another request from someone! This year, however, I need to carve out some time and do a badge because I always enjoy doing them when I get going on one.

Debbie, I haven't. I recently read about it in her magazine and was planning on looking into it! How exciting on working on merit badges together. You will have to keep me posted and let me know what you think and how it goes. I have some things I need to get around to before I can start the Carpe Cocoa Merit Badge, so I'm excited to see what others think in the meantime.

Tiana, are you going to do the Carpe Cocoa Badge?

Krista
