I bought a dozen bobbins that I thought would fit my Featherweight but they are too deep (tall; wide - however we measure the space between the two outer edges). Does anyone have an idea what kind of machine might take these? Thanks

You can get the correct bobbins here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10-Bobbins-For-Singer-221-Featherweight-301-Sewing-Machines-45785/162561397961?epid=2123645577&hash=item25d96a14c9:g:qv8AAOSwnDxUp0XG

you might have class 15 bobbins, the most common.

Greetings: I have traveled to Above & Beyond Creative Sewing in Nanuet, NY for sewing machines. The shop is wonderful and they take phone orders for machine accessories. Staff is very knowledgeable. I have ordered belts for my treadle sewing machines as well as bobbins and missing plates for other vintage machines. Maybe you can send an e-mail or call the store. Good luck.

I agree with Linda. I have several featherweights and the bobbin is one of the thinniest. I bought a lot of bobbins one time that fit my brother machine. Guess I was fortunate that they fit because there are many different sizes of bobbins. When looking for the 221 bobbins make sure the seller specifies or check the package for machines they will fit.

Machines are very particular as to which bobbin they take. Sometimes even the difference between plastic and metal matters. The package should say what machine they will fit, if you still have it. Many cannot use the pre-filled cardboard or plastic bobbins, though others can use both. Featherweights are one of the oldest machines, and their bobbins are one of the thinnest of the round metal bobbins.
