I live on Staten Island and all these years we have never seen so many family of deers as we are now. They are so gorgeous. They seem to travel in a bunch which is so adorable. The town is putting up Deer Crossing signs on all our expressways.

We have a small family of deer that we see on the back of our property. Love to see the mum's with their fawns playing.
Using the binoculars they never even know we are watching.

That's so cute. The deer are so much bigger than your precious dachshund lol

We have 4 regulars that cross our property. My dachshund chased them this afternoon.

Just a word of advise. They don't read signs and they always seem to run in three when crossing the road. Experience speaking.

I agree that deer are beautiful and I helped feed a fawn this summer---adorable and I loved it. But deer are very destructive as I'm afraid you will find out if you have shrubbery and flowers. They eat a lot of beautiful plants. I cannot have anything but grasses and yuccas in my lawn. All that aside I still think they are beautiful creatures. I hate them and yet I love them.

I'm in a small NH town, usually there are deer near by, but this year they are hanging out on our property and I am seeing them often. Usually I see tracks, but not the animal - only other change I've noticed is hearing coyotes less often.

I'm glad you shared this topic, I would not have thought there were any deer at all on Staten Island!
