Ok, I have a gazillion things to do.. and what do I do??? 'Putter"...
So, I snooped through my stash of fabric, not sure what I was looking for, but...
I came across this ...

for what ever reason I bought this,,, it stayed in my stash for quit some time.. I decided today was the day to stitch it up...

cute little half circle apron and it took about 45minutes to cut, sew and iron...
One can never have enough aprons!
Then I made a "half yoyo' flower...

sew easy to make,, take fabric circle, fold in half, do a running stitch on the rounded edge, cinch and knot thend do the same with 4 more yoyos... join the ends and knot,, add a button in the center and Voila' cute flower...

Oh Karla what a treasure, it is a yo yo quilt right?
I have a Cathedral Window Quilt that I started years ago but I have not work on in it in years. I feel encouraged by all of you to get it out and start working on it again. It will be a great summer project.
All of you are so talented and Grace you are amazing too, you are always working on something fabulous and you are so fast. Everything is so pretty .
Thank you all for sharing.
Grace enjoy your visit with your mom.
Big Hugs to all.

Grace I hope you get lots of hugging time in with your mom.
You make doing yo-yo's seem so simple. I guess my fingers are too big I can't quite make them look right.
I want to share a picture of this dresser scarf given to me when I was young. My parents would visit these three spinsters well in their 70's and 80's a few towns away. I always thought they were family, anyway I was given this from them. They made it years before I seldom use it, but I do keep it on the quilt rack to enjoy.

I decided ,, at the last minute to fly back to SO Calif., my mom's birthday is on the 5th, and I booked my flight and am heading back on the 4th,, so my "Girls" will have to wait till I get back on the 8th to work on them,,,
I did pack some YoYo making stuff, and a cross stitch I have been working on... I will miss my messy craft room but will be glad to get some birthday hugging time in with my mom.

Oh, and my hat will be traveling with me! :>)

Grace , these yo yo flowers are adorable and so easy, I might be able to make them myself. LOL!!! Some of us are still in the beginners group!LOL!! And your apron is cute and I love how it was a just cut out and hem kinda thing. I agree with you that one can never have enough aprons either. I have a bunch and I wear one every day when I cook or just do chores around the house. It is amazing how many clothes I have saved by using an apron. I have to have a full apron pattern because it seems like my shirt is always the place that stuff drops too........especially hard to get out stuff like spaghetti sauce or berry juice.

Keep us posted on the make over projects of the Girls Rehab ! Your friend is going to flip out when she gets to see how glammed up you have made your trailers!,,

Krista, I am going to cut a small circle out of craft felt, about 1/3 smaller then the yoyo flower, run a 'pin backing' and then glue the felt to the backside of the flower that way I can change them out... depending on my mood or outfit

These small 'yoyo' flowers are sew easy...

circles folded in half and stitched..

stitch them on continuous thread, I do a little finger fussing to shape them..

yeppers, sew easy peasy...

Grace, your sewing talent just amazes me! You make such beautiful things! That flower is gorgeous!! I want to make one now. I'm thinking a smaller one and attaching it to a hair clip or barrettes for my little girls hair. How big are your circles? How big is the flower when done? Thanks for the idea Grace!

Love the apron and banner but the flower is my favorite! Did you make put some on your hat? I'd love to see it. It sounds like something I need for when I'm milking the cows.

Thanx Denise..

I also finished my Flag pennant thingy..

(recognize the fabric?)

I had just enough fabric to make another one... sew I did..

Now to finish my trailer banner, all I have left to do is put the binding on.. hopefully that will happen tomorrow..
