I'm still getting used to the fun of glamping...and so I have to ask the experts a question!
Maizy is a 1963 Yellowstone Cab-over, and when we bought her last year we had the roof looked over and it was in good shape...the cracking, peeling asphalt was scraped off and the roof coated. Well this morning, after a heavy rain, I can see that there's a leak where the roof seam meets the side.
Can you give me any DIY suggestions to seal it up? Butyl tape along the edge? I'll take her in and have it checked, but if I take her now, they'll have her all summer...just like last year, it was almost 3 months.
Any suggestions ladies? What works or hasn't worked for you?

Thanks everyone for your advice...I went to a nearby RV shop (BIG RV's - wow) and they didn't want to lend a hand with a vintage camper. Made me laugh...when I told them the year, they said, "1963?" Wish I'd be sassy and said, "No 1863, it's pulled by horses." Ugh...but these are also the same guys who asked if I bought it new. Can you see me rolling my eyes?! The search is on for someone who loves vintage and has knowledge to share!

Yes, like Sherone said, check out ytube as well as go on facebook and join a couple of the vintage trailer groupd, they are a wealth of knowledge..
I know gals who buy a special product just for roof leaks.. I just can't remember the name of the product.
also
check and seal around all your trailer lights,,, especially running lights on top.. they are notorious for tiny leaks. and check your windows and replace the butyl tape...

How about a tarp? I know this is only a temporary fix until you take it in, but I could help keep the rain out until your summer is over and your ready to take it in. I hope you find something that works and you will be able to enjoy your camper again!
