Dianna, I have been to Ellijay's Apple festival back in 2006 with one of my best friends who lives up in north Georgia. They have quite a celebration and their Apple U-pick farms and Apple Barn stores are wonderful!! Enjoy!

Apples in Minnesota come a little later in September and October. My favorite is honey crisp. Begun right here in Minnesota.

It is always fun for me to learn that many other Farmgirls love apples like I do. There are so many wonderful varieties being developed that it is almost hard to keep up with them all! Apples with peanut butter are a classic, aren't they?? I think millions of people would agree with that combination. I also love almond butter on them as well. It is always interesting to hear about why certain people like some varieties over others. I think apples have always been so available to us in this country that that eating them is melded to may memories growing up. Sometimes availability also determines what we have been able to purchase too. Growing up in Virginia, there are many varieties of apples that do not make it into grocery stores because they are not grown in bulk. The special event of Fall is that local orchards open up and locals can go and pick and purchase many favorites like Winesaps, Arkansas Black, Gravensteins, Jonagolds, Macon’s, , and so many more.

I'd like to join in Winnie! I actually eat gala or McIntosh or Fuji, organic, when it's in season. I cut them up and depending on my cravings I saute them in a little butter, cinnamon and raisins, sometimes adding sweet potatoes!! Yum YUM!!!! Ty Winnie for hosting!

Hi Winnie, please add me to the basket, I love Yellow delicious apples. I let them sit until they are very soft, a friend calls them apple sauce apples cause I let them get so soft, then slice them, and dip in peanut butter. Just like eating candy. Hugs Karla

Put my name in the basket please Winnie! I love apples, all kinds but I love Granny Smith. I love them plain or with peanut butter or anyway I can think to make them. I also enjoy Rome apples. I really like the tart ones.

I would love to be entered Winnie! My favorite apples are Gala apples. And I like to eat them simply cut and dipped into peanut butter or in Apple pie baked oatmeal!! A close second is the red delicious. And I like the eat them the same way. Apples and peanut butter is the best snack ever and supper easy too.
