I am excited tp add to our Apple Festival fun as I just heard from MaryJane. She is offering a giveaway of her cookbook, MaryJane's Cast Iron Kitchen . There are many wonderful apple recipes in this book. They are: Apple Pie using buttermilk biscuits, Apple-Pie filling, mini Apple pies, and baked Apple Bread-Pudding.

I have made the Apple Pie using buttermilk biscuits, her Apple-Pie filling, and I can attest that both are delicious!! Plus, all of MaryJane's books are full of beautiful photography, easy to follow directions, and her recipes always turn out right. They are totally kitchen tested for perfection!!

If you would love a cookbook that you can use all year long for all meals, this one will do the trick! Leave your name and write MaryJane a short note on your favorite way to eat apples Please sign up if you are interested!!

Sign-up through September 5.

Winner posted on September 6.

Our winner this year for MaryJanes CastIron Cookbook Is CONNIE!! Congratulations Connie. I will send your name to the Home Office and they will ship your book out.

It is almost apple season here. I checked the orchard over this weekend, and they are close. Close enough that I made my first batch of apple fritters. Yum they are my favorite way to eat apples. I also hear that is a very good cookbook!!!

Oh My Stars,, 'apple butter' made in the InStaPot?? ok, I gotta try that!
Most of the apples on our tree have worm holes (we didn't get around to spraying).. so I have been feeding the apples to our neighbors horses...

Hmmm, I think I will head out and see how many worm holeless-apples I can manage to pick.. after it stops raining...

Sylvia, Thanx for the heads-up on the instapot apple butter.

and Maryjane.. how sweet of you to give away a Cast Iron Cookbook... hugz

Have you seen the blog posts using the Instant Pot for apple butter? Tomorrow when I hope to have enough Gala apples, I'm going to try the recipe. You also need an immersion blender. You core the apples and leave the skins on for thickening. I love all the healthy aspects of this method.

Hi MaryJane, These are the two best ways I love to eat apples.
First is sliced and dipped in peanut butter. Second is fried pork chops, pork steaks, or pork roast dipped in applesauce. Simple but good. Hugs Karla

P.S. Thanks Winnie

Winnie, the next time you hear from MaryJane tell her thanks for me. I'm not signing up because I have her Cast Iron Cookbook. The coffee pot roast is the best and is my go to recipe for pot roast. Come cooler weather the coffee chili will be on my to do list. The FarmGirl who wins this cookbook will be in for a treat.
