With this being Winter season, cold and in some areas very few sunny days.. makes for a perfect time for a Tea Time Party,,

I often have a Tea Party for one (by myself)around 2-ish PM...
I put on a pot of water, and while it's heating up, I set up my tea cup,, sometimes a sweet mug.. choose a tea and dig up a few cookies or even make a mini batch of scones.

I usually use loose tea leaves and often have a fruity Tesane'

these are just few of my strainers..

and loose teas...

Sometimes I use pre-made tea bags...
But what ever I do,, I make sure to relax for a few minutes and enjoy my tea... it's my decompress time... even if it only lasts for 15min.

The perfect tea time for me, is a scone, lovely scented tea and some calming classical music....oh and a pup or kitty snuggled with me on the Davenport.

So what's your favorite Tea Party.

I had a tea party once with all of us adult women bringing our teddy bears. (a party for them too, of course). Wish I had taken pictures. It was on Valentine's day.

I have never really done anything fancy with tea as I am a coffee devotee!! I do, however, have a cup of mint or ginger tea after dinner almost every night. I enjoy the flavors and now it has become a welcomed ritual.

Darlene,, I agree about watching the birds from our window as we sip tea... in my case the birds are little sparrows and wild finches, Doves and a gazillion quail! lol!

Tea time for me is in my prayer chair , by the wood stove watching the birds at my window tray. Up close and personal! This is where I do my daily devotionals and praying. Peaceful and quiet.. This is where I go throughout the day for tea and reading. Warm and calming!

OK,, gonna have a Tea party with the Grands this Saturday...

Picked up 3 cups & saucers just for them...
Pre-pared a container of "3-2-1 Cake" mic... all set!

*3-2-1 cake mix... 1 box of regular cake mix (I used chocolate) and 1 box of Angel Cake mix,, mix together into a re-usable air tight container.

To Make:
you need a 8-10 oz mug
spray on oil like PAM(I use spray on coconut oil)
measuring spoon
Mix
and a microwave oven.

#1. lightly spray mug with oil
#2. in a measuring cup or bowl put 3 TBLSP of mix (3)
#3. add 2 TBLSP of water (2)
#4. mix well and pour into the mug
#5. place mug in microwave for 1 minute (1)

Sometimes, not sure why, I have to add an additional 10 seconds to the 1 minute bake time.

**before baking you can stir in 1/8th cup of nuts, choco chips, shredded coconuts or raisins as an optional treat**

3-2-1 Cake!

Tea time is a beautiful selfcare ritual. While I drink tea every day, I need to focus on the beauty of it more. You have inspired me!

I find tea time is precious time, quiet, slow down and ponder time. I find there is nothing more relaxing then curling up with a cup of tea, a tea cookie or two and just breathing, relaxing, sitting by the fire in the quiet, curled up with a good book or magazine. I believe stillness and tea are both very healing! I joke about being a tea-aholic! I have one pantry shelf filled with different kinds of teas... in fact, my hubby just accompanied me to the market earlier this week and we ventured down the tea aisle as I was out of two of my favorites teas... his response was: Oh yes, we need more tea - stock is getting low!! LOL! Well, we can't have that!! Off to the market to buy more tea!!!

Sara... luv your idea of a spot of brandy...

I loved hosting Tea parties.. tho up here for some reason Tea isn't as popular.

There is only 1 tea shop that I could find still around.. there use to be 2. :(
occasionaly I have tea parties with my grand kiddos.

The art of making tea is important tor me... it signals my brain.. to stop, relax and re-fresh my brain.

I keep a tea kettle on the stove all the time ... and my teas and several cups and saucers with in arms reach.
I confess I do use tea bags if I am lazy or headed back to my sewing room other wise I use loose tea... sometimes I will blend different teas... especially if I am stinking a tasene(herbal tea)..
My favorite is a mix of lavender buds and chocolate mint tea. (Go lite on the lavender or it will be too floral testing)..
In the winter when I need a pick me up, I'll drink a mint tea with a squeeze of lemon.

But however you drink tea... just take a moment to relax..

Yay! My favorite activity! I haven't hosted many at home, just a few, but I try to go at least once a month to our local tea room with a friend or two. One of my godson's friends thought it was hilarious that I "take tea with friends," thinking it such an old-fashioned ritual, and he teased me royally. Then last week he asked if I might have tea here with him one day, to discuss some article we've read. I asked him if he was still making fun of me, the goober. He said no, he thought it might be a fun thing... I'm sorry, no, he said he thought it would be an "interesting experience." (I guess he felt bad for ribbing me. Lol. I win! LOL!!) So now I'm having him, my godson and son over for a "gentlemen's tea!" My son and godson weren't into it until I told them it wouldn't be frilly girly and that it would have a more substantial menu. I sent them some gentlemen's tea menus from some prominent New York hotels, and now they're all on board, making special requests. Can never go wrong when addressing a man's stomach! LOL! I feel like I should be going steampunk with stogies, but I just can't stand the smell! LOL! Can't wait to see how it goes!

Hugs -

I use bagged teas. I haven't tried loose tea before. I did inherit a loose tea strainer but have yet to try it. I am more of a fan of fruit teas but I also enjoy the Irish Breakfast as well. Really depends on my mood. I tend to use the Irish Breakfast when I have a headache or stomach ache. Whereas I drink the fruit teas all the time. I remember having tea parties as a kid and would love to have an adult tea party. It sounds like so much fun!

Grace my tea parties have changed through the years. I've been to high teas and Texas style teas where the hostess served sweet iced tea with finger sandwiches and wee pastries. Now I have mine morning English breakfast tea brewed in a Pyrex 4 cup measuring cup and I drink it in a 16oz styro-foam cup - but - and I am fond of saying there is always a but - come warmer weather when I can have my morning tea on my side porch it's time to dust off my favorite tea set.

My taste in tea has changed through the years too. I no longer enjoy the flavored teas. I prefer the English or Irish black tea blends. I mostly only have morning tea but occasionally I do have a cup in the afternoon. Then I'm been known to slip a little brandy into the cup and sip on what's left in the glass.
