We're heading out this weekend. FINALLY! Seems like forever since we've camped. I'm craving it. The temp is dipping down into the 70's, the leaves are changing.... I love autumn camping. We're hoping to squeeze in 1 more time before the end of the season. (Although with our little camper we can do winter camping. It's a thought)

Anyone else doing some autumn camping? I love the place we're going to - it has lots of hickory trees - we'll be collecting! Yummy! It also has Osage Orange trees. I love setting up a centerpiece for my table.

Oh, happy autumn!

City Chick, I love fall camping the best. Last year we went in the middle of Oct. and slept in a tipi. Oh it was a hoot. I have been on my 6th weekend camping out in my Outpost.

Love walking on crunchy leaves and acorns and the smell of the woods in Autumn.

Have a great time, I know you will. Take pictures and show us when you get back

A Happy Autumn To You

Wow, I had such a flashback of my childhood when I saw the Red River Valley page. My mother used to play the paano and my brother and I would sing along. Red River Valley is one of my all time favorites. We had this big American Song Book with all sorts of lovely songs in it.

All the trailers and outposts are so sweet.......

Yay! So glad that song triggered some good memories. I'm going to do some real fall camping at my trailer. Going to spend 3 days at the end of Oct. keeping an eye on the new colt to make sure he settles in safely to the new pasture we've been preparing. I'm hoping to spend the whole weekend there looking after and enjoying him. I'll have to post some more pictures when the time comes. :)

I have loved the Red River Valley song since I watched the movie Tombstone with Kurt Russell. I made a music cd for my dad for Christmas one year with all his old favorites on it (Patsy Cline, Marty Robbins, Roy Clark, etc.) and added this song to it as well. He really enjoyed his cd.

Take care, Melissa.

Bumpety bump. Sun is shining, the latest issue mentioned the SOTF, all this interest in gals and trailers and did I mention the sun is shining again? Anyone up for playing "virtual campout" again?

Awesome! Oh, a real campout next weekend? Lucky ducky. Hope you have a great time. Should we just start setting up our second virtual campsite in this thread or start a new one?

This thread you started, Amy, was the spark that got me to start my blog, by the way. I had so many pics to share that I didn't want to bog down the forum. I just love the way creativity is contagious here!

Let's just continue this thread. How about two weekends from now (or something like that)?

City Chick, have fun on your real-deal campout :)

Huckelberrywine, Happy that I was able to inspire you to start your own blog, isn't it fun - HUGS!
