Hello,

I am thinking of using my photography to make customized Farmers Market Signs for people. I have started putting the garden photos I would customize in my Etsy shop. What is anyone's opinion/needs on this? Would you use photography on a sign for your trade booth?

Wow. Those pics took my breath away. What a gift you have. I'd love to utilize a pic somehow for my farm market. Ilove the one of the horse "hiding" behind the bales. I love them all....

Thanks so much I can't seem to give them away so need to market them differently I think.

I will come up with something for signs. What sizes do you guys like for your market signs and what price range do you feel is in your budget for a nice sign for your stand? $25 - $50?

Thanks for your input,
Mandy

Oh, Mandy, I'm with Dawn! The cards would be wonderful! You should check into submitting your photographs as a freelancer to the greeting card companies. Most all of their websites have guidelines for submission. What do you think? I know I'd buy them. I'll be ordering one of you photos from you Etsy site soon for a birthday gift.

Hi there!
Beautiful pictures. I have one idea for you:
Now I haven't been in a feed store or tack store in years (hopefully when I move out of apartment life that'll change) but I do remember that most of the feed and tack stores here in southern california had a farm related gifts section including calendars and cards. Maybe you could turn some of your photos into blank cards and try giving the feed and tack stores in your area a sample card and a flyer with your prices and other pictures and see if you get any bites!

Hi, great photos, are the pair of work horses Percherons? My daughter used to work at a horse farm and cared for their 11 Percheron horses. I agree with everyone you should try to market these shots through feed stores. You might also make use of one of the online print dealers to print the farmstand signs and cards for less than what you can do, you can upload your photos to their site. Someone like Vistaprint makes lawn signs you will still sell the right to use your photo so you still will make the profit. I had eggs for sale signs printed by them.

Pink is not just a color...it's an attitude!

Thank you all for the encouragement. I am hoping to really focus on it this fall when the weather gets colder. Through etsy I got some things in a shop in Helena, Etsy has been worth it!

Yes those are Percherons. Almost all of my draft horse shots are Percherons. They were working at a parade. I would love to have one but
not quite sure what I would do with him.

My sister is a photographer and offered to decorate a new medical practice with her photographs and also a hospital hallway. She received a lot of advertising and is pretty busy now.

Gratefully living on the "fat of the land".
