Hi Homemade brownies or cookies. Get the colored plastic wrap and tie a couple in the wrap with a real satin ribbon. You could even print out your recipe on the computer. Then roll it around a pencil to make it like a little scroll and tie it in the ribbon. If not the recipe, a cute note with a bible verse, like the one where "Man does not live by bread alone but a cookie is always good for the soul!" Melody June

Bonnie,
What kind of budget are you looking at? Is it a meeting or more of a retreat? Do you have a theme? :) Just wondering so I can brainstorm with you :)
I have made Bath Salts, lip balm, sachets, laminated bookmarks, given cookie cutters, candles, etc. for favors at our ladies fellowships.

How about little fabric bags with a couple of nice tea-bags in? the bags could be made from little squares of fabric and just sew on ribbon ties.

Thanks Ladies so far with ideas. You all have ask me good questions. We had our 1st meeting this past Thursday and just getting started with the meeting and ideas. The conference is going to be on Sept. 26, so I have time. We do not know how many ladies, but I do know they will not be Farmgirls, but that does not matter.
I would say the ages will be 35-70.
Thank you very much everyone. I will keep you all posted. |

I would say hit the dollar stores wodden spoons kitchen towels potholders KItchen gadgets. Chocolates cookies a cupcake in a great box to take home and enjoy. Tea or coffee samples. Home made soaps samples size how about sample size lotion lip balm I find that things that go straight to work are used more.

I did bags for a women's retreat and got the small size scratch pads, stamped the first page with a cute rubber stamp, and added a pen from the dollar store. You could also go around and ask merchants to see if they want to donate items for your bags. Some are glad to do it for the advertising. Don't forget MaryKay consultants, Avon reps or other direct selling people - they love to donate too for the exposure. Last, but not least, stick in a piece of chocolate candy - Andes Mints are always good!

I made small neck bags filled with rice, and a "pillow case" to fit. It could be put in the microwave to heat. It was also good for spot heating, like bad cramps, or it could hold a baby botlle in place, place on top of magazines when reading outside. Lots of uses. We used shop towels cut to size for the pillow. Scraps will make the pillow cases.
Be good to yourself and be good to this earth.
