There are many Kentucky farmgirls...one of the best and brightest, Miss Wilma, who is featured in Mary Jane's Life Book, and dear Miss Bee Haven, in Louisville. I live in the Northern part of the state, near Florence. How about you?

Oh, and Welcome--to the Farmgirl Forum and the Bluegrass!!!

Hi,Shirley. I'm stuck in Louisville today, wishing like crazy I could be at our farmstead in Irvington, KY in Breckinridge County. That's about an hour from Louisville. I'm waiting for a plumber to jackhammer my basement drain and install a backflow valve down there to (maybe) prevent anymore flooding like we had last Aug. 4th. Where are you located?

Gladly. Hope it was of some use. By the by, the "butterless breakfast" was actually "ok"...eggs with boursin and some bacon. Makes us sound like hedonistic imbiciles at our house--no butter, but plenty of boursin!!!

Hi, again, Shirley. Miss Wilma is planning to have a gathering in the spring. She lives in Knob Lick, KY. Whoever can make it to the Burlington Antique Show(April - Oct.) goes there pretty often. Sometmes Wilma sets up and we all sort of use her as a base of operations. We bring food and party and shop all day long. Wilma had a big gathering a year ago this past fall and we sort of named ourselves the Knob Lick Country Club. It was the best time ever! Where is Springfield? I'll have to look it up. Coincidentally, my dad recently spent a week in a rehab facility and met a 92 year old gentleman from there who raises, trains and races trotters and pacers. He and dad had a great time and dad got his address. I'd like to take him there to see his friend sometime.

You bet! We are farmgirls without boundaries. :) Lisa(nubidane) from Ohio hangs with us a lot. And at the last gathering, we had Carol Sue from Washington state and numerous other farmgals from all over the US. Girls just wanna have fun! Where are you? Indiana? My favorite thrift stores are 'just across the river', in fact. We don't have the Salvation Army thrift stores in Louisville any more. I have to cross the bridge to New Albany and Clarksville to hit two good ones now.

Hey Guerin, you're actually closer to me AND Lisa! How cool!!! Usually, we're the lone wolves up here in the North country! Email me sometime through the forum--would love to connect in some way locally.

Miss Wilma, it was Justin's breakfast (for dinner). Pickins' were a little slim in the cabinets and fridge, and we had breakfast for dinner--the challenge was breakfast with no butter and very little milk. He did a good job, and thankfully I wasn't as hungry as I usually am!!!

Welcome Flower! I'm a farmgirl from out in Paint Lick, which is between Richmond and Lancaster. I'm about 90 minutes away from Springfield. My DH is there right now going to a tobacco farmers meeting with JTI. Nice to see you on here! :)

Starbucks and sushi to green fried tomatoes and corn pudding-I wouldn't change it for the world.

Must be nice, Shirley! Up here in the northern part of the state, we still couldn't see the earth for the snow! Now it's the big "thaw" wherein our backyard becomes a mud pit and we'll be giving dog baths weekly. Yippee!!!!

Hello Kentucky Farm Girls... I just signed up and started a new Farm Girls Chapter called "Smiling Country Hens". I have been searching for a chapter and wrote to a few listed but had no response..sooo I figured I'd take a leap of faith and start one hoping there are other newbie or oldie farm girl kindred spirits that would like to get together.

blessings to all
