Was watching "She's Crafty" this a.m. and she knitted up can cozies. I know it's back to basics, but just thought it would make a nice gift idea. So when I can get back up to my craft room (still laid up after ankle surgery) to bring out to the kids/grandkids this summer. Should go real fast and will make them up in all sorts of color combo's. Great way to use up my scrap yarn.

Hi Sisters,
I just finished a six block small comfort quilt for my grandaughter who is now six years old. I named it Six Pinwheels of Joy. I will mail it to her tomorrow. It is machine pieced, but simple hand quilted. Take care now! Annie

To Kathryn and all other crocheters:
I love the doilies, they are beautiful.

I am a knitter, not a crocheter, but I was sharing my copy of Mary Janes Ideabook with a new friend and she mentioned that she used to make crocheted dishcloths that resemble some of the round doilies on page 246, but she has lost the pattern. I told her I thought I might have something in one of my pattern books, but it turned out to be a book of knitted dishcloths, not crocheted ones.

Does anyone have a pattern for a "fancy" round crocheted dishcloth that can be shared?

It looks tricky because the name of the quilt design is "card trick"!

Sharon, my direction call it DOC but I find that the schnibbles quilt are a bit more tricky any way you go. But I like the card trick name better.

I am working on pillow caces for the Crisis Nursery here in town. One of the Quilt groups I am a part of is do 75 for them. When the kids move on from the CN they can take the pillow and the case with them.

I am about an inch and a half away from finishing my first 'pair' of socks. It is actually the third individual sock I've made. The ribbing at the top is the part that just is so boring to me it is hard to want to finish it. I think that the next pair is going to have some sort of pattern instead of just ribbing to keep me interested.

I am working on a "holder" for various extra feet and tools for my sewing machine. I am creating it without a pattern, so wish me luck.

Anyone have tips for sewing vinyl pockets on fabric?

I haven't worked on my daughter's wedding dress in a week. Yikes!! So, that is what I'm working on this evening. I better finish it because the bride's maids dresses are next on the list.

Hi Lori,

Thanks! I used a simple cotton (the monkey print) and a baby fleece (the birdies). You can make two out of a half yard of fabric. Pretty frugal!
