You over-achiever, you. I have my fabric and design in my head - but need to make my mini hostess/fancy aprons.

Sounds like everyone is on a roll!
Linda, your skirt turned out way cute! Love the fabric.
Over the weekend I finished another pair of slipper/ shoes. They were a teal color, one of my favorites. I have 4 more projects needed to be completed before I can get back to my blankets. Fingers crossed it's a productive craft week for me.

Have any of you made a taggie blanket for a baby? I have been considering making a small one, but want to make sure it's easy for a beginner.

Hi Krista! I've never made one, but I've seen patterns on the internet. Look so easy! Do a Google search for "easy tag blankets to sew". I'm sure you will find lots of them. I know they've always been popular. Hope this helps!

Never heard of a taggie blanket, just looked it up on the internet...I don't get it? Any ideas why they are popular?

Me too Jana,,, what I just learned is that these are for small babies,,, the colorful ribbons are tactile and help with minor motor skills... they only cravat,,, is making sure the ribbons are sewn in/on very well so the infant/toddler does not pull the ribbon loops out and possibly choke on it. I luv the bright colored ones that I saw,,, 'primary color' help with color stimulation.
I might have to make a couple of these for my "Covers of Love" group where we make infant quilts...
Also I read where some crafters applique objects onto the center of the blankets while others insert a 'crinkle' sounding material into the quilt to help with audio skills...
(I borrowed this photo from 'pintrest')

Thanks Christine!
Sorry Grace! lol I didn't mean to get you hooked on trying something else! If you end up making one before me, please share your tips! I don't want to use the crinkle sounds material. I am thinking more of soft and silky materials.
Jana- I believe it's because babies like tags so much and allows then to use their fine motor skills to grab them. My 7 month old is obsessed with tags. If it has a tag he will find it and play with it. This is why I decided I would make him a taggie blanket . My thoughts were to make a small one. Maybe like 16x16. Just something he could easily carry and move around with.

Your very welcome, Grace! Anything to help a friend out! Lol
I didn't have a chance to make it to the store this last weekend but I am liking the themed ones myself. I think a jungle one would be adorable! One of each would also work.

Krista, your blanket is adorable! I have a new nephew, I may have to make him one of these! I have made my niece a reversible nursing cover which I hope will be in the mail tomorrow. Wish I knew how to make the pictures a little smaller!

Judy, I love your nursing cover! Super cute saying! I haven't made a blanket yet, but I am hoping to soon. Life is catching up with me right now, so when it slows down I will. Show us a picture if you make one for your new nephew.

Krista, seems life is catching up with me too. I may have an order to embroider 20 shirts by October. And I work full time!

Oh no, Judy! That's a big order. How long does it take you to make one shirt? If you do end up with the order, I hope things slow down so you can get them done. On the bright side October is 3 months away.

The rail fence pattern I am using say sew 3- 2 1/2 strips by the length of the fabric then cut into 6 by 6 squares. Then you sew one square vertical and one square horizontal . You keep sewing the squares that way until reach the size of quilt you want . Hope this helps . Ruthie Ann
