Lisa, thank you so much for sharing pics of your work place and your feathers drying. I could almost feel my hands on the feathers. I am not very creative (artistic) but I love your final creations. I have a red haired 15 yr. gd that just loves the feathered earrings and hairpieces. I'll have to remember your etsy site for her.

Kristina, your sherbet afghan is beautiful. I would do something like that if I didn't already have so many UFO's to finish. I finished three quilts for Christmas and am getting ready to finish another top or two. Thank you for sharing.

Trying to S-T-R-E-T-C-H and cut six server aprons out of what fabric I have for servers for a local restaurant.
The ONLY place here to get fabric is Walmart and that's not saying much. I HAVE been able to get more of this fabric in the past . . none today and I need to get 'em done and delivered Friday. I have enough to do the job if I make pockets from something else.

Well, I will HAVE those 6 server aprons!! They are cut and ready to sew, but this was a challenge of "Nifty Thrifty" and "Nellie-Make-Do" proportions!! Cost for supplies ended up being CONSIDERABLY LESS!!! Time involved in being a "Nellie-Make-Do" CONSIDERABLY MORE!! But the end product WILL BE PROFESSIONAL!!!!
But this is what Farmgirls do, isn't it?!?!

Sherbet colors for that afghan..that's just what I was thinking too! Very pretty! CJ, you are a wizard! Would love to see a pic of those aprons when you are done! Today I am getting heart yo-yo's ready for swap, making valentines and pins, and still working on knitted hand and elbow warmers for self. Happy stitching/crafting Farmgirls! Oh..take a look at the swap site under January yo-yo swap. I posted pics of Ohioann's farmgirl journal. Beautiful!

OOPS! I didn't get a pic of those server aprons! But they are already in the hands of the restaurant people and I have some extra cash in my purse! YAY!!! They were VERY pleased with them . . I loved the expressions on their faces and they told me "you are SOOO good! These are wonderful and perfect!!"
But they were black waist aprons with a pocket row across the bottom divided into 3 sections, 24" wide and 12" long with square corners. Look pretty much like any basic server apron HOWEVER these have a "chic and classy" look to them and are sturdy. I used what I had of black duck canvas, a black linen curtain panel with two very long ties on it, a black sheet and black quilt binding and bias tape. Not all "shades" of black are black . . . if you get my drift.
Thanks for the encouragement! Now onto my next apron project!

Today I am drilling the last holes in my truffle mold ornaments. They will be boxed up for Christmas today also - YAY!

I'm also working on another ornament, using up some wooden rings with hooks (a thrift store find). I have already crocheted cotton string around them, and have started on the center part of them. I'll post when those are completely finished too. I'm using old canning lids for it too.

The afghan project continues in the evenings while I chat with dh....

After cleaning my oven this morning (tried a recipe yesterday that made a huge mess), I will be retrying said recipe to help keep the house warm, then stitching up a bunch of pillowcases and dresses. Then I'll be cutting some fabric strips for an upcoming tutorial.

Happy Friday, girls - everyone stay warm!

Let's see...I'm spinning laceweight yarn to make an altar cloth. Last night I started crocheting a new scarf for the Man of the House out of Homespun, and I'm also sewing a new jacket for him. Unfortunately, that last has so much fine detail in it that I can only work on it when I'm wide awake (meaning, probably not today). He just had to have a fussy jacket, y'know?

I have a farmgirl friend and we are trading button fairies. Here's the one I made for her.

On the back I added a charm she can take off and use on a necklace or something else if she wants.

Love those Julie!

Today I am painting garden mushrooms (re-purpose project from 4 years ago....), labeling a box for ornaments for each gift recipient so I can easily add more later throughout the year, crocheting and probably adding another "to-do" to my list per a request of my mother.

Julie..those button faeries are so adorable .such a cute idea
Ceejay .I now those women were very proud to have their aprons you made them. I worked as a concessions cashier one winter and I hated the aprons we had to wear. They were faded and so worn out ..even had stains on them. I thought the whole time.if i just had a nicer one I would feel better about it .
Judith..i have had "make yo-yo's" on my to-do list for several years now. I think they are so pretty and colorful.I just never seem to have time to make one :(
Kristina...love the colors in your afghan. Looks so soft nad cuddly also.
I am still working on "word" jewelry. Then I took a broken gold necklace and added beads to the length and a new toggle closure. A bit of wire wrap and green dyed howlite and it is bright and colorful now .

Julie, I really like your fairies. Lisa, I like what you did with the gold necklace. I finished my second set of wrist warmers. These are for my daughter - a very late birthday present.

Lisa, I really like the word jewelry you're making!! A LOT!

Michele, cute wrist warmers! I bet your daughter will love them. :)

I'm currently working on a wall hanging type quilt thing...no pictures, but will post soon. Can't finish it until I get some interfacing for the chickens I'm supposed to add to the front of it. Who doesn't have that in their stash? Oh yeah. Someone who is just starting out on this sewing thing....

Love to look at all the projects you're working on! :)

Michele .......the wrist warmers are so adorable . The buttons are the perfect finishing touch .
The word jewelry is such fun... I enjoy cutting the words out of this old book.
Looks like i will have lots more of crafting time on my hands .I spent the evening in the Er last night .
Sigh..........took me 4 months to get back on my right leg and now have a toe to knee permanent brace on that leg. Well ....I have been walking like the Dr ordered. Seems the left knee now has torn ligaments from throwing all my weight on it .
I have just figured the universe is telling me I need "craft time " I actually am looking forward to what I create.
I am getting my chickens end of March so I am excited about that. I cant wait to have my own flock of girls
