JULY 28, 2012 UPDATE: THIS HOUSE IS STILL AVAILABLE. I SURE HOPE THERE IS A FARMGIRL OUT THERE WHO WILL MOVE IT AND TAKE IT TO A GOOD HOME. OTHERWISE I WILL SOON NEED TO LIST IT ON ANOTHER SITE.
I have an old house in my pasture - circa 1901 - that needs to find a new home. It is a farmgirl's dream! I will give it to anyone if they will move it - the sooner the better. It would make a beautiful farm home! See for yourself - here are some pictures of the outside!
It is not currently hooked up to any utilities. The floors are solid hardwood and the walls are solid ship-lap. Most of the ceilings are tongue and groove. It has been wired, but the wires are just hanging below and in the switch boxes. The back porch has been enclosed (I would turn it back into a porch). Both front and back porch floors need replacing due to weathering. Roof is metal with 3 lightning rods.

I wish someone close to me in Texas would fall in love with it. It is about 1500 sq feet, so a good size.

I don't normally post on threads (except for the swaps), but my heart just stopped. Your pasture house is B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. I know I am going to dream of myself living in it tonight. My fantasy is to have a house like this. I am just swooning over it. Would you mind if I copied the pictures and framed them? It would be an honor to see the inside, if you have pictures of it. Really, I am just swooning over this house as I type. I keep scrolling up and down to take in its beauty. Thank you for sharing.
PS - Unfortnately I live in CA and it takes everything I make to survive here, so I don't think my chance of having a home like this is remotely in my future. :-(

Yes, Beverly - it has to be moved. There is quite a bit of acreage near here for sale, if you are interested in moving to Texas. LOL!

ooooh! we would love love love this... but we are 300 miles away in west tx (near Abilene). there is no way we could have it moved that far.
If you HAVE to get rid of it and can't find anyone to take it... although it would be a shame for it to be taken down, you might consider calling the "Texas Tiny House" guys. I don't know if they would be interested, but I DO know they build little houses out of reclaimed materials. we wanted one of those but they are out of our price range!
at least then it would live on as a bunch of small farmhouses :)
EDIT: i have no idea if they pay people for the "reclaimed" building materials they use or not.. we weren't looking at them from that side of the equation... we were just looking to buy one.

Thanks, Coley. I looked at their website. This wood would be PERFECT for this use. BUT I would only do this if I cannot find someone who wants this house to fix up and live in. This house has such character, I'd hate to tear it apart.

Is the home located in Richardson? --OH! Lone Oak? I was born in Sherman Texas not to far from there. Wow, it is a "classic" example of an East Texas circa 1900 farm home...She must have been a real beauty back in the day.
May I ask what is the history behind this lovely home?

From what I understand, it is from 1901 and first belonged to the George Hunt family. It has been moved twice - once from across the street in back of my property to the pasture directly across from where it was, and the second time from that pasture directly to my pasture. I know - confusing. LOL! It s solid hardwood floors and ship lap hardwood inside. To me it is very beautiful and very solid. I WISH there was a farmgirl who lived close enough to move it and fix it up. A friend just asked me tonight about it and he is checking to see about the costs of moving it - he lives about 1-1/2 to 2 miles away. That's about all I know so far.
The house I am in is from around the same time period and was fixed up before I bought it. I LOVE it!
