I have houses in both places. And it is HOT in both places. Don't like this weather at all. 21 days straight over 100 so far. Are you a city farmgirl? I enjoy country life and don't miss the larger city as much as I thought I might.

I wonder - has anyone else ever tried to give a house away on Mary Janes? LOL! It sure isnt EASY!

Oh wow. Too bad, as others have said, it is probably about 7 hours from me. :( I would jump at the chance! Not sure how far out you are, but what about a cool country store? That is what I would love to use it for! Good luck in finding someone to love her and make her their own!

The original owner of my house here had a country store on the corner in front of me. There is no remnant of that store here now. A friend and I have thought about a gift/quilt/craft shop or a "garage sale" shop. I don't know if I a, up to handling a full-time shop, though. LOL!

Hi Linda~

How about a once a month sale, be it garage, yard, antiques etc. It gives you a month to shop and set up your treasures, all you have to do is advertise. I had a friend in Montrose, CO who had a similar sale once a month and did fabulous. Something to think about, I would love to do if I lived in the right place and had a fabulous old house like yours.
I wish you luck with whatever you decide to do with it, and what is meant to happen will.
Again thank you so much for sharing the house and the history.
Farmgirl Hugs,
Debbie

That's what a friend and I were thinking about - just using it "as is" - no a/c or heat or plumbing. Just as a "place" for a sale. Would have to be daylight hours. LOL! There is a power pole and we could run a Heavy Duty extension cord for a few lights. I have even thought about finding a tennant who would want to fix it up in lieu of rent. LOL!

I'm hoping to move back to Michigan...otherwise I'd be whining for sure for my husband to move it for us. We live in Mineral Wells...nothing here :( Currently renting an apartment. That house would be a dream. I think the idea of a part time resale shop or gift shop would be wonderful. Have fun with it...I'm envious.

Wow, I love it too! In fact I would buy that scene door if you want to sell it? ;-) I live in Oklahoma and have been looking at horse property. It is so expensive. The costs of moving would be high cause of the diesel fuel on the trucks. I have a friend who moves houses too! Wouldn't hurt!;-)

LOL! Thanks, Sissy. It is a beautiful house. Too bad Mary Jane doesn't want it for an additional B&B housing unit at her place. LOL!

Can you list it in Yankee magazine or Craig's List?????? I hate for you to get rid of it...but a gal has to do what they have to do.

IF its at all a help in keeping it I can come on down the month of September and do whatever you want me to do....to help fix it. True
I lack experience BUT I certainly would be willing to do whatever in order for you to keep it. Let me know.

Thanks, Beverly. That's a super offer. Maybe I should just host a "house raising" party for farmgirls. LOL! If I decide to keep it that would be a great fun time. LOL!

Oh now wouldn't that be fun a house raising party for farmgirls, count me in:-) Oh, there are just so many possibilities for that beautiful house, just need to be in the right place the right time. Oh, to be rich! If only to have that house and the money to move it and fix it up.
Have a beautiful weekend farmgirls.

Debbie
