Yes, thank y’all for the thoughts and prayers. We are prepared, but also praying we don’t have another Hugo from 1989!! We never imagined a hurricane could affect us this far inland, but this one could very well do the same. Praying for Florida especially, but also Georgia and the Carolinas!!

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

Well we survived the hurricane as the remnants blew through. It’s still raining for the next few hours, and still a little windy, but no major damage! We were blessed with cold temps, 55 degrees today, so I think that took “the wind out of it’s sails”, so to speak, lol. So thankful, but still praying for those in Florida.

A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

Glad to hear all is good in NC Wanda Sue. My heart breaks for the folks in Florida, we have friends all over Florida. But, all have checked in safe but no electricity.

Here in Idaho leaves are almost gone from our front porch shade trees, garlic is planted, started raining yesterday and turning colder so that will probably become snow here real soon, and we'll build our first woodstove fire of the season today. So all in all, I guess winter is a'comin'.

It is rainy and chilly today as well and all the rest of the week but that is fine. We have Goulash and homemade bread for dinner. Yum!

Rained all night and is very cool this morning. Will not complain, just dress for it. Sitting for the grandpuppies while their parents go on a short vacation. Sun is trying desperately to shine and sometimes it is successful.

No rain here for us in the Chicagoland area. After having a frost twice this past week we are near 80 with sunshine & lots of wind. Feels like the return of summer. We are in desperate need of rain though and I am hoping the slim chance they are predicting for next week will actually happen.

We had some rain last night but it was clear this morning, this morning it was beautiful and still is now. So I went and got my prescriptions picked up and so I am serif more rain comes! We shall see!

Take care everyone
Love you all!

Ir's snowing big time here in Idaho. Probably is on Katmom in Washington too. The first snow of the season is always so pristine and quietly beautiful . . . but let's talk again in February . . . .

Same here Grace. We were getting some snow Sunday night but by Monday afternoon it was melting. Our mountains still have snow and it sure is chilly. Christmas really is right around the corner.

Awoke to a brillant white landscape outside this morning. The delicate flakes are still falling which looks rather magical.
Hubby & I went to see the Warren Miller Film on the weekend which has us pumped for the winter and the snow sports on offer. After living in Australia for the past 10 years, I might start out looking more like a baby giraffe finding it's legs on the skis, but hopefully by the end of winter I will be mastering the skill once again.

Nancy the storm out of the southwest stayed 8 miles west of Paris and a couple of hours later a storm came up from the southeast and stayed 2 miles east of Paris. Paris did get much needed rain out of the last storm. A tornado touched down in Honey Grove, forty miles west of Paris.

The storms kept the same weather pattern that I saw all during the summer. Storms would come up from the gulf and go either west or east of Paris, so we stayed in a drought.

On Monday afternoon as I was taking my dogs for a walk I admired the scenery along our country road. The clouds were high, like swathes of gauze and the contrails of several planes crossed from one horizon to the next. As I looked down at our peaceful homestead with the Golden beams of the setting sun gilding the grass and trees, my heart melted and I thanked God for leading us to this area.
My sister-in-law from Belle Glade Florida is visiting and is closely watching the weather reports.

We are going to be hit by the hurricane that is rapidly approaching the Florida coast line in the Atlantic. It will come ashore sometime tonight and travel up the state and out in the panhandle. Everyone is just sitting tight as we will get lots of rains and gusty winds for awhile. Fingers crossed it will cross the state and weaken so it can't wipe out communities.

Winnie, I hope you are ok and all your stuff survived the rain and winds. Hopefully the hurricane was much less by the time it got to you.
