Patricia, I feel so sorry for you and your husband. I feel like I know you because of us being swap partners once. I will pray that God gives you peace that passeth all understanding and that all this is over soon. I am not surprised that "all" were summoned; that is common. I know that doesn't help, but wanted you to know. When this is over and the culprit is caught, I think there could be a class-action lawsuit over this from all the non-guilty ones and for back pay, too. I am not a "let's sue for everything person," but defamation of character and with-held wages are not right, either.
May God bless you both,
Portia

Wishing for the country life!

Patricia,

Ditto! I agree with what Portia said.

How terrible for your husband and you. Please know that you are
in my heart and prayers. I understand the company is trying to
get to the bottom of who the culprit might be. But really, to take
away a persons wages until the investigation is completed is crazy.
They are hurting a lot of innocent people. How do they make that
up to their employees? Im sorry, procedure or not, I would find it
difficult to return to this company.

I am sending hugs your way!
Remember, God is in the mix of all this mess. He will straighten it
out and take care of you. He never forsakes us. Please try to rest,
eat and take care of you. Your farmsisters are here for you. We care
because we are sisters, and we belong to the best sisterhood in the world. We belong to each other.

Bless you dear farmsister.

Working for an attorney, I don't want you to get your hopes up for next week's pre-trial conference/hearing. You probably won't get many answers from the pre-trial. It's simply a way of the court checking the status of the case. The parties' counsel will be there, but not always all the parties involved.

I know it's easy for me to say, but you can't worry until you actually know what your husband is up against. Worrying about the myriad of possibilities is really just going to make you insane. The other girls are right in that he was named because he worked there at the time this happened and not for any other reason.

Sure, it will make the paper and the news and will be gone in a weeks time and people will move on. You need to just be mindful that this will pass and probably sooner than you think.

Take care of yourself and those you love and leave the rest to god. He will lift you up and give you peace. You are a farmgirl and we are a tough breed. So look ahead at the money you might need for the meds and start working on that now. You can do this!! We are all here for you.

My daughter used to work for Hastings and they would interrogate her all the time about theft. It's a routine thing they do to everyone especially managers. They have no scruples. They would send people in from ten buck 2 and have them interrogate everyone if they thought the numbers weren't right or something. It's bull. It sounds like there is some gung ho ceo that wants to get to the bottom of something whether real or imagined. Just tell DH to stick to the truth cause they would even routinely threaten my daughter with getting fired if she didn't fess up to something and sign a paper confessing it. She never did and they didn't fire her. My other daughter was fired from petco after one of her bosses doctered the computer records and made her look dishonest, just because she had it in for her. Some people just can't understand the concept of integrity.

You have 61 days to refuse your COBRA benefits ... so if any BIG medical bills - such as more than the $2800 you would have to pay for your premium - occur you will at least be covered. It isn't much but it is some safety net for a short while.

I am so sorry to hear you are facing such hurdles. I hope you can keep you head up and get through this in one piece.

Oh my gosh, Patricia. I just came in on the conversation..don't know how I missed it. I am so sorry. You all have really been through it and you must be so very tired to have to keep hanging in. Prayers are going out for you guys and I am including one that you all will see a very good thing come out of what looks so very bad right now.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Prayers are sent your way. I would ask your atty about a counter suit against the employer for lost wages and contact the labor bureau about cancelling the health benefits. I don't know if that is even legal since, even though he's not being paid, he's still on the books as an employee. If your dh gets his job back after this, he might want to see about organizing a union to prevent this crap from happening to anyone else. I'm not a union person myself, but there are some protection benefits from being a union member. For instance, I was a corrections officer in a county jail. One of our protections was that if administration accused me of something that threatened my position (say beating an inmate), I had union representation at my hearing to defend me. It's just a thought. Hope all works out for you and dh. This also sounds to me like there is something more going on in the heirarchy of you dh's company.

he had another pre trial hearing yesterday, the info the lawyer was supposed to get 5 weeks ago, she got yesterday so next week they are going to get together and look over it. the judge is getting angry that nobody has come forward so they are making noises about re-indicting to try ans scare people. I have applied for cash and food assistance thru the county but it takes a month, we have found help with dh's meds but not our son so far. I did find a program that he may qualify for that would give him his meds for $18/month so I will sign him up tomorrow and hope for the best. such a frustrating nightmare. I did have to tell my landlord what was going on and bless him he was wonderful and understanding. so thanks for the support and prayers I need them both
