Ok, how many of you use to run home from school, turn on the 'tube' and plop on your bed to watch 'Dark Shadows? Raise your hand!!! Me Me, I did ... every day... Here I am 40+ years later and I can hardly wait to watch the (tongue-n-cheek) remake of Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp..... Ok, I know it's probably gonna be silly but I can hardly wait to go watch it..... hahaha! Anybody want ot go to the movies with me?

I used to watch Dark Shadows. Even my mother watched it with me. Thanks for the memories. Marly

I used to watch it but don't remember much except for Barnabas Collins and Quentin the werewolf. And I still remember the song "Quentin's theme". I thought Barnabas was sexy. Cindy

I remember watching it with my mom. Love Johnny Depp movies. He's very talented, but in such an odd way. Wish I could see it with you farmgirls!

YES!! Although I had to watch re0runs, lol. My mom and I both loved watching that show--I still do. I'm looking forward to the movie coming out, although I'm gonna wait til it hits Netflix since the movies are so freaking expensive here.

Oh a girl day to the movies, I'm in! I love Johnny Depp and can not wait for Dark Shadows to come out, I remember watching it as well at 50+ but not very often:-) Parents! He will be here in Colorado Springs as he will start filming The Lone Ranger, you would not believe the list of "attibutes" they are looking for in the extras for the movie. You should check it out. I will be having a girl day here for this movie as well:-) Love Johnny! Farmgirl Hugs, Debbie

I used to watch it every afternoon too. It will be interesting to see where they take it. Quite the cult classic to be sure!

I did that exact same thing every day after school too! I didn't know there was a movie out. And with Johney Depp? I will have to go see it now.

I never watched Dark Shadows!! But I'm in for a new Johnny Depp movie...The characters he portrays are always so refreshingly "interesting"!

I never saw it when it actually was being aired but I have seen the episodes on VHS tapes and I caught it being shown on some cable channel once. The 2nd TV series looked like it could've been great but unfortunately the 1st gulf war broke out and the show didn't get enough ratings to have a 2nd season. I saw the trailer for the Johnny Depp one on utube & found it funny-and they tackle the question of "how does one handle waking up 200 years later?"

You can get all of the episodes on Netflix (gosh how did we live pre-Netflix? HAHAH) I do wonder how vampires went from being so awesome as Barnabas to the weenies they are these days---yuck.

Count me as another who raced home to watch. Now, between Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, the campy nature of DS, and the fact my husband was also hooked, we will see it the Monday (senior matinee) after it comes out!

| I'm also one who rushed home from school to watch the TV show. Loved it. Can't wait to see the movie. Love, love Johnny Depp and Tim Burton movies. The two of them are just so awsome with what they come up with. |

haha! It's good to know I was not the only one who loved D.S... lol! Looking back, it was pretty corny... but back then...so Kool! I have a VHS tape of an episode of D.S...where Quentin Collins is in a dungeony room fighting with this other guy... when you really study the back drops you can see the "stone" walls were a painted back drop! lol! As for Johnny Depp portraying Barnabus... well I know it is going to be a hoot! Ok girlfriends,,, let's have a girls day out,,, hit the movies & then Starbucks afterwards to laugh about how funny the movie was! :>)

Yup! But we didn't race home, for some reason I can't remember now, my older sister and I raced over to my aunts to watch it. But yes, I loved, loved, loved Dark Shadows. One of my biggest disappointments was when they canceled it! As I recall they didn't even let the story line finish up.

Would love to stay a week at Collinwood, spooks and all. My mother hated the show but let me watch it every day. Loved the storyline when the governess Victoria went back in time and was almost hung as a witch but at the last minute...............

I am another one who watched it growning up. I have mixed feelings about the new one. I do love Johnny Depp but I am afraid I might be disappointed. I was one of the ones who did not like the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I just have a problem with them remaking some of the classics. I even heard they are remaking The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I guess maybe I don't like change.

| My dd and I have a date to go see the new "Dark Shadows" movie when it comes out-can't wait! Love Johnny Depp and the trailer looked great! We saw the original "Dark Shadows" movie from 1970 & watch it often-so campy, but so awesome at the same time. I think I might be missing something by not watching the series...it's on Netflix...I'll give it a try! |
