I know she isn't a farm critter lol, but I have a question that maybe my farmgirls can help me with. My cat "Cutie" seems to be developing a "diarharra" problem. It's not a constant problem but when it does happen (not too sound disgusting lol) it looks like a light color mudd consistency. I am feeding her Science Diet and Max Cat Nutro two 3 oz cans a day plus a 1/3 cup of dry food ( buffalo blue brand) She is only 4 yrs old and not extremely active. She gets her moments of crazyiness lol. Any suggestions of how to prevent this from happening.

Once you find out what is causing the loose poo you may also think about switching to a better brand of cat food. I feed our cats and our dogs Victor brand food. The cat food is called Mers Cat Food and you can find a dealer near you: www.victordogfood.com
The food contains No Corn, No Soy, No Wheat and No Gluten. Many dogs and cats are allergic to some or all of those things and they often show up as itchy skin or hot spots. When we first got our yellow lab we put her on Science Diet and she was constantly scratching, had red spots, etc. We found the Victor Dog Food and never turned back, she has never had an issue since.
I also raise Rhodesian Ridgebacks who have almost no hair. I can tell the difference in my puppies because I grow them on it. My puppies are nice and muscular and plump, compared to other breeders I know who use a lesser brand of food. Ridgebacks are supposed to be lean and muscular but as pups they need help getting there and the Victor Dog Food does it.
Anyway, worth looking into for your furry friend.

Not much better food than Blue, honestly. I would see if perhaps the moist food is too rich for her. Some cats have very sensitive systems and do better on dry foods, only. Since she's a female, I'd feel better putting her on dry--males seem to suffer later in life on mainly dry diets with their urinary tracts, regardless of the quality of food.
Do call your vet. She could even have stress issues, and you might not know why--cats are super weird, even though I love them. They're just weird.

It's funny you said about stress Jonni. The past two days I was cat sitting my DD cat's and they don't get along. Well actually my DD cats are fine, it's Cutie that has a problem with both of them. One is a girl and the other a boy cat. My cat is always hissing at them both lol. So many I should notice when they are at my home if Cutie develops the runs. Thanks.

Having had cats my entire life, whenever there was loose stool, it was either stress or they ate something (other than food) that didn't agree with them.
Sometimes, you haven't the slightest idea what bugs them, but it sounds like it might be a good litmus test to see if she has a similar reaction next time the "cousins" are over :)

Once you find a dealer near you, you can ask if they carry the Cat Food, for whatever reason they don't list it on the website, but they make it...

| When we still had our kitty, our vet recommended dry food for her (she was having a similar problem). He also advised sticking with one brand and not to change food brands frequently as this may cause digestive stress...worked for our "cinder." Hope Cutie feels better soon! |

Could be worms. Could be diet. If you're giving her milk...stop. Cats tend to be lactose intolerant. Is she maintaining her weight? You may want to cut back on the canned food and feed more dry free choice. I give very little canned, as it is mostly water. If I give canned to my cat, I only give a quarter of a friskies size can (small) twice a day. That's it. Are you feeding cat treats? Those, depending on what they are and how much you're giving, could upset her stomach as well. Cats don't do well on a vegan diet, in general. They were born to be meat eaters. Check what you are feeding her. The main ingredient should be a meat product. If it's not, then it could be the diet itself.

Great Advice everyone. I will be taking her to the vet next week for her annual check up. I don't feel her milk and very very little treats (only when I clip her nails). I will check to see what the first couple of ingredients are in her canned food.

I will have to agree & disagree with this statement...it depends on the milk. If it is store bought pasteurized cow milk full of hormones & antibiotics then I say no.
IF it is raw goat milk from healthy goats that do not receive any hormones or antibiotics, I say...YES feed it to the cat! I say this because I have been feeding raw goat milk to my cats for years...only a small amount but they are the healthiest cats I know! Raw goat milk has been used by many people who have had to raise a stray cat/dog or even a baby deer. In fact, 2 of my barn cats just "showed up" one day...just tiny little critters without enough teeth to eat cat food, so milk was all I had to offer.
Running a dairy farm and having barn cats, you sort of don't have a choice, the cats are there, watching you milk and just WAITING for their share...sort of comical...but they have always been given raw goat milk and never had any digestion/poo issues.
So, it really depends on the milk  and the cat. Just my 2 cents for the day.
