Hey everyone-

I signed up on www.kiva.org to help where I can, when I can. It's a thing called a microloan. You read throught the loans that are waiting to be fulfilled and if you can, you can loan money to someone here in the US, or someone across the world. For a short time, you can give a free to you $25 loan to someone and watch as the recipient uses it to better their life and community. Here is a link you can use to get your free $25:

Thanks Alee! I followed the link and signed up myself. Definately a neat thing that you can lend the first $25 for FREE! Money is a kuttke tight this month so unfortunately, I dont have extra to share, but being able to start witht he free trial $25, is a step in the right direction, and I can see it pushing me to lend money of my own in the future when I do have it to spare. I chose to "lend" to a group of 4 women in Mexico who are looking to buy animals. I am pretty sure I read about this on "raisingjane.org" a while back, and thought what a great idea!
Thanks for "reminding" me about this website- I hope others will do the same!
Hugs,

~Laurie

Absolutely! And I love the fact that you can loan the first $25 free too! It's great that people are willing to sponsor such donations!

I also do this. I, like Diana try to pick mothers with families. It is so rewarding to see what a small loan from me can do.

This is so strange, Alee--I just read this in one of my magazines in the passed couple of days and can't remember which one. I'm backed up to April, so who knows! I thought it was great when I read it--so many great folks in need of help!
