Hello ladies! I'm Cassidy and we live on a farm in northern middle TN. We have 6 cows, 6 pigs, 3 hogs, and 7 chickens. We garden and I can a lot of what we get. I knit, can sew but need more time (LOL), and make a lot of things we use. I have two children, a boy and girl. The boy child I call Monster because he's huge for a 2 year old. The girl child I call Raspberry because her every emotion is punctuated with a raspberry blown. She's almost 6 months. I've been married to an amazing man for a little over 3 years. We never thought this whole farming thing was much more than a distant dream. Then we just decided, nope. We're going to do it.

I look forward to getting to know y'all!

Hello Cassidy and welcome to the forum! What town do you reside in? I work part-time for Cracker barrel Old Country Store whose headquarters are in Lebanon, TN. I think it's great that your family is living out your dream! Life is just too short not too!

I live in Rural Carlock, Il on a small farm. My husband and I have 4 kids. The boys are ages 3, 5, 11 and our girl is 13. We have 3 chickens, 2 Border Collies, 3 rabbits and hope to add to our chickens. We had an unwelcome racoon help himself to 3 of our hens; bad coon!! We also farm 40 acres corn/40 acre beans. We may not have any corn due to lack of rain. Take care and again welcome!

Thank you everyone! I'm happy to be here.

I live just northwest of Nashville for right now. We're hoping to move further north this winter. We're looking for more land. We have 25 acres here, but we still have neighbors. Turns out where we're at, even though it's zoned for agriculture, the people want more of a country-style suburb :( No farm animals because they "stink." Our animals do not stink...they smell like animals, lol.

Welcome Cassidy!

Jump on in and enjoy, it sounds like you will have much great advice to give with your experience with animals.

PS I dream of a piece of land in TN or KY.
