Welcome to the farm, Laurie!

My 3 today:

My grandchildren. They make me think about things with a different perspective.
My husband's willingness to get things done for my dad to move in with us, like reconstructing a bigger bathroom.
the love of my family when I am being unlovable.

O, a trouble's a ton or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it!
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only--how did you take it?

1) Just a few hours til his surprise party, and my hubby is still clueless! LOL! YAY!
2) Our son, who just couldn't let his dad's big 5-0 pass by without a splash! (And who has been making a whole lot of calls and plans this week!)
3) Our foster son and daughter who have been the best co-conspirators!

Enjoy the party, Nini!
Today:
Spending my day in quietness.
Having my dd and her family here later. They are truly a blessing to us.
Just being able to spend some time reflecting.

Today I'm blessed...
That I had no trouble during my trip back home from Illinois.
I got to see some of my grandchildren while in Illinois.
After many days of rainy, gloomy days the sun is shining.

Thank you, girls! :)

Sharon - my husband's name is Charlie. His brother, father & grandfather were all named George, though! ;) I'm sorry - when we were corresponding I must've accidentally typed my brother-in-law's name! Forgive me! You will probably laugh when I tell you: he remembers YOU as the "Jelly Lady." (Remember sending us the jelly? He pouted as he scooped the last smidgens out of the jar! He LOVED it! It was yummy good!) I'm sure he will grin from ear to ear when he hears you've sent him birthday wishes! Thank you Jelly Lady! ;)

It was such a great party. He really was surprised - I can't believe we pulled it off. Our foster daughter and son were incredible - they made all the salads, picked up all the food I ordered, and then set up the whole thing at the park and welcomed guests before we got there. It wouldn't have been possible without them! The weather held up - sunny, cool... MANY friends and family showed up - even a few surprise guests! I honestly thought we were going to run out of food there for a while. I'm telling you, though, the Lord really blessed all of us. We had kids from aged 3 to 80 something, and every single person seemed to really enjoy themselves. Everyone mingled - everyone played games - everyone chatted and laughed and reminisced... It was SUCH a blessing for my husband. One person said, "I can't get over all the wonderful stories about all the wonderful things Charlie has done for people. Everyone just loves Charlie!" Yes, indeed-y! I'm a very lucky girl for being married to such an incredible man! I loved sitting back and listening to all the stories, seeing all the smiles and hearing all the laughter. The best part, though, was just seeing him shine in the love of friends and family. Everyone should have that at least once in their lives. SUCH a good thing! :)

Here are my three for today:

1) Our son is back to work full-time today - the day is all mine! Yee hah!
2) Friends and family and the joy of being together.
3) Knowing that my husband sees 50 as only a number. It's not the years we celebrate; it's not even the days; - it's the moments and the people that fill them!

Happy Monday, girls!

Hugs -

Nini

Judy, I'm glad that you are healing!

Nini, I am sorry, I don't know why I thought your honey's name was George. I'm glad that CHARLIE had a great time. Thanks for the Jelly Lady smile :)

Denise, I'm praying!

Mine for today:

1) Sweet fellowship with the Lord
2) Planning a picnic in the mountains with my honey for tomorrow :)

Nini~ He felt like it went very well. I am good with whatever and wherever the Lord chooses to put/keep us. He has been trying to get back into this company for quite some time and this is the first time he has gotten as far as the interview. We shall see what we shall see. Praying God's will for it.

My 3 blessings for today: Hmmm, what to choose. There are so many.

I am blessed by my children and their hearts for the Lord.
My quiet time this morning.
The opportunity to spend with my honey traveling tomorrow.

It is hard to choose 3 isn't it?

1) Hearing a small airplane flying as I type this. So different than when we lived in Tucson near the Air Force base :)
2) Going on a mountain picnic with my honey!
3) My honey hung up a birdhouse he built yesterday and it looks like we may have a tenant, a couple of swallows:)
