"Msdoolittle" made a post the other day about a lovely farmgirl day she had. I had one last week when I planted some veggies, built a rock fence, made jam, and made homemade tortillas. It was fun to feel so "domestic", my favorite kind of days. Today I find myself inspired again, and with no errands. I'm going to plant the butterfly bush and lavender I got for Mothers Day and then I am hitting my sewing machine. I've started sewing more the last few years since joining the sisterhood, but haven't made a real pattern for years. Just little stuff here and there. Wish me luck! After that, I will have tea and MaryJanes Farmgirl Saturday cake I baked this weekend when a best friend came to visit from Chicago, when my dd gets home from school. We will sit on my back porch that I've "Glamped Up", since I dream of a Glamper someday. I also need to walk my fur baby and make homemade laundry detergent. Lastly, I will not go to bed until I finish letters for my farmgirl pen pals! Looking forward to a fun, full day of farmgirl-style activity.

Anybody else sewing, gardening, or doing something "farmgirl" today?

Good Morning Nicole,

I also love my farmgirl days. Last night we had a farmgirl dinner. The only thing
not homemade, or homegrown was the meat. And by the way, it was the least tasty part of the meal!
So today, I do have some errands, but I also plan to add dividers to my square foot garden that my son made for my Mother's Day gift and plant flowers and vegetables.
I need to work on a swap I started and I am mailing out a package to a farmgirl's young friend who is seriously ill. I also hope to bake some cookies and enjoy another home grown dinner tonight. The sewing starts tomorrow.

Jenne,

Sounds like a happy day. Aren't they the best, especially in times like we are living in now?

Nicole, I agree. There is a different satisfaction when
you put a dinner on the table that you put so much work and
love into and that goes for so many other things we do too.
Thank you for sharing your farmgirl day with us.
