I was visiting my daughter and we made a Monday of visiting a couple of thrift shops in her area that she likes to frequent. I scored 45 skeins of DMC floss, two crochet hooks and a brand new package of needles for sewing upholstery, canvas, etc. Now here DMC floss runs 33 cents a skein. I did not know how many skeins there were in the baggie until today when I opened it up. 45 of them. Which works out to be 14.85 just for the floss. I paid .99 with Monday being 25% off day so it was a whopping total of .75 It made my day! Just thought I'd share since this rarely happens to me. The thrift stores there have beautiful clean stuff and lots of it is new. I guess it depends on the area you're in because the thrift stores here are nothing like that. We had a good visit and a grand time with the 2 littles at her house. Love them cuties!

I sure do Laurie, especially when it is something I use a lot!

That was a deal! I'm thrilled for you--it always feels good to score something at the thrift.
Especially when it's something you really use!

Jonni,
You're right! It's sure does feel good. LOL
I love to thrift shop but some of them are ridiculous around here. They either don't have anything worth finding or it is rarely in nice clean condition.
I do take back that they are all that way here. We do have one in town that is very reasonable and clean. They are connected to one of the churches around here and I believe it is to help the pregnancy center or something.

Me too CeeJay! Always looking for a good bargain.
I was shocked at how nice and clean and organized the thrift stores are out where she is.
We just don't have much and there isn't much turn over here.
I am keeping my ye out for a few things to re-purpose too!
