I would love to make some in different colors for our mugs in the camper. Many of the patterns look like they go all the way to the rim, and I am wondering if there is one where it's not so close to the rim (so I am not putting my mouth on yarn every time I drink from my mug).

Any thoughts? Or patterns?

Have you looked through the patterns at Lily Sugar n' cream yarns. They have lots of free patterns. I think I saw some mug warmers there.
