The dues are for the MJF Sisterhood. I have not started collecting any dues for our virtual chapter. I hope to not have to. I have this one mail out that I will pay for.....but everyone must email me their address.

For Chapter Farm Girls, this is a reminder (a push for me) to complete those binders/journals. Take a photo and post it here for everyone to see. BE PROUD!!!
Next, have you been to the Hen House lately? Join us this season for the Recipe fun. I hope to find out about a few of mine and add a few more to my collection.

Daizy, is it to late to find a home here? In the last year I picked up my homestead from Vermont and moved to Minnesotta, and have found no farm girls.....I'm looking for a home.

You will receive a certificate in the mail but I have been so overwhelmed with ranching duties that I am a bit behind. Winter gives me more chores and now that my son is away in WY I can't ask him to help so its all on me again. I hope to clear my desk this weekend and have everything done by Monday. So sorry to be late.

No problem, Mz Daizy.
I completely understand about duties and lack of help. I am no rancher but I do have a flock of six lovely hens, five dogs, and three cats that take a lot of time. They are completely worth it and I wouldn't trade a single one of them! We are hoping to get a patch of dirt tilled and ready for planting some yummy vegetables again this year. Last year we grew our vegetables in containers and had a bumper crop of tomatoes. Sadly, my sprouts of cucurbrits and herbs met with temps too low to survive. I had an indoor greenhouse in NC but we lost power for several days and we could not keep them at steady temps using a generator. We were ill equipped for such a harsh winter - - partially because we are Texans and we didn't really understand how long winter can last!! Around here, it comes and goes. It thaws and we have intervals of decent weather not months of ice and snow! Oh well, live and learn.

Just read your blog and feel a certain kinship. I'm a relatively new chicken mom and know what you mean about loving each and every one. I, by no means, have had even close 100 at a time and admit that I know nothing of the big "ranch" life, but a girl can dream. . .
