I have two well rooted dewberry plants if anyone is interested. I would love to barter for sweet potato slip or two. Sun choke/Jerusalem artichoke bulbs, or anything homemade would be nice.

Pretty plant Kelly.

Is it a berry vine, just curious?

Yes berries out more similar to a blackberry. Berries are smaller but a bit sweeter as well. They are pretty one is a bit younger than the other.

Very pretty and I would be interested in trading for some hand made cards if that was interesting to you, but I don't know how we would go about mailing the plant??

Hi Kelly,

I am so glad that you like the cards!! I received my plants today and they arrived in near perfect condition. The larger one looked slightly wilted, but I put it in a pot on the counter and gave it a drink and it was perked up by morning, so I think its going to be just fine. I am wondering about planting it. We are supposed to have chilly temps this upcoming week, do you think it would be OK to plant it now or should I wait a bit? Also, let me know if you have any recipes for dewberries. :)

Thanks so much for doing this swap with me! I will send photos once I get it planted.

Have a great weekend!

<3

My plants do fine into the 20's but my plants are older. If you can wait until temps reach 50 plus, I think that would be best. Also we eat a lot fresh and freeze the rest for cobblers usually. They are used any way that a raspberry or blackberry can be used. Oh and jams are great too. I do not make it but my father inlaw has made quite a bit in years past and it is yummy. Have fun growing it.

Thanks Kelly! I think our temps are supposed to drop into the high 30's so I better wait on planting.

Have a great weekend. :)

That sounds so much better than our overnights at 65 lately. Already hitting 91 during the day. Hot for sure.

Kelly, Just wanted to let you know that my dewberry plant is still going strong! I am so happy it survived the winter. We have had a very rainy spring and beginning of summer, so I think it got an extra boost. :) Thanks again!

I am delighted they are doing so well for you! They are quite tasty provided the birds leave us some :)
