Not sure where to post this--I made some of the bug off bars featured in the MJ Outpost book. I used cedarwood and eucalyptus essential oils. They work very well. Keeps the bugs away, no harmful chemicals and nourishes my skin. thank you, Mary Jane!

I also have the book and will be making some of those. Thank you for sharing. I must get back to Mary Jane's books and make some of the things in them. So many great ideas, and better, when you find out that they really do work out well.

Thanks for posting about this, I have been looking for something like this for me - I will need to get the book!

Does anyone know if there is something that you can use on pets to keep the bugs off? I haven't had much luck finding anything and don't want my sweet Bonita getting eaten up by mosqitos!

I need to make these! I have also found that Lavender essential oil works great for relieving the itch and swelling of mosquito bites (and deer fly bites).

Cindy blessed me with a bug off bar! How lucky I am! I used it this evening while out in the yard. No bugs bothering me!!! Thanks so much Cindy!

Would this work in a candle too? I would love to make some up and put in my porch to keep the mosquito's away. Has anyone used it that way or just in a simmering pot?

How efficient are they when you're sweating? My big bug problem is that I get bitten while I'm doing yard work because I sweat off the sprays.
