While I cannot remember the name right off had, it was recommended to me to look for property north east of Spokane because I am a tree lover. Do you have trees up there?

I live in Stanwood on the west side. We have had so much mild and not so wet weather that it is strange. Snoqualmie pass doesn't even have much snow. Last night the news said the base was 14 inches when it usually is 40in by now or even way more. We have had one day of snow in November some low temps in nov. also but not much else. a real mild winter.
I love the republic area--lived there way back when it was even tinier. Like in the sixties. MB

I just watched a Hallmark movie called Away and Back. The movie was set in the state of Washington. I cried my way through the show because of the beauty of the territory and because it was about Swans. I was reminded that my husband gave me a sculpture of two swans and reminded me that they mated for life. I think it was his way of telling me he did too. We have been married 44 years and counting. It also reminded me that no matter how far apart we are (even if in the next life) that we will always be together. Nature is such a wonderful teacher of the Devine plan. You are on my mind Terri and thank God he carries us through the hard times.

and so the crazy weather continues.. while E.WA has had a not so cold/snow laidened Winter,,, it has been soggy lately.. but at least you aren't on the Palouse... where they got flood warnings yesterday...
When the Palouse is green from the Spring rains.. it is beautiful!

Terralea, I watched Away and Back and imagine my surprise when the naturalist pointed out where the eggs were found--Bluebunch Falls was located between Colville where I'm from and Chewelah which is about 20 miles away. There is no Bluebunch Falls but a Blue Creek. Also the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge where the little girl went to look for the missing swan is south of Spokane but Turnbull had a different habitat that the one picture. I heard later from our nearby Refuge that Turnbull didn't want to let them film there for some odd reason.
Also the the area north of Spokane that the realtor mentioned could be either of the above mentioned towns or Metaline Falls which is on the Pend Oreille River. Beautiful areas

JoAnn,, I never put much stock in 'TV" shows,,, even the ones that are suppose to be (almost accurate) Documentary... They tend to take creative liberties a tad to far... heeheehee... Besides, I like living in my own little make believe world! snork, giggle giggle giggle!

Terri, I know Republic well--when we first moved here from Minnesota we lived in a little cabin on a ridge with a beautiful view of the Kettle Range for three months. It was a dry cabin, solar powered (which hadn't been kept for years so we got about 15 minutes of electricity a day: ) Teepee shaped outhouse with no door but a beautiful view of the mountains. We love the new brew pub there. Always stop by for a growler when we go through!
