As a country girl, I admit that half of the time I don't look that fashionable! Or at least what most people consider fashionable. After all, who decides? Can't jean and rubber boots be beautiful, too? However, I do enjoy coming up with outfit ideas to wear to work, church, or special events. Today I went out to lunch with my mother and grandmother as a belated Mother's Day celebration so it gave me the perfect opportunity to try one of my new outfit ideas. I already had the clothes, just did some remixing.

I would love to see what your outfit ideas are!

Joanna you look beautiful and that sums it up---very country. I do like the addition of the scarf too.
Me? I'm a jeans gal but i do wear long skirts on occasion.

You look beautiful! I am so short, I never think I look right in long skirts. Unless I wear really high heels, but those days are gone for me!

Amy I am short too but I think I look ok in a long skirt. I stop at mid calf not to the floor. Try that

Today I'm still wearing the clothes I wore to work, but last night I wore a long bandana print skirt with a black tank top, wide belt, and denim vest. and blue lace up combat boots. I'm not very dressy but I like to wear skirts once in a while. Just feel more girly in them. I also wear yoga pants and t-shirts cause they're comfy and stylish.

Joanna, I like what you mixed together. It looks good on you.

Around the house I wear maxi T-shirt dresses. When it's cold I layer them.

My going out clothes: Pants/jeans with top & jacket or maxi slim-cut dress with jacket. I have jackets for hot, cold, or in-between weather. Jackets are my fashion passion. Whether I'm grocery shopping, going to church, or a luncheon I dress primarily in the same clothes ~~~ dressed up or down with choice of jacket and accessories. I've been known to wear a 50 cent garage sale blouse with an hundred dollar suit - it's all about the look for me.

For me Denim & Chambery shirts count as jackets too. I think of my style as up-town country.

Forty some odd years ago I read in Glamour mag that a woman should spend most of her clothes money on leather - shoes, handbags, belts. With them you can dress up a less expensive dress or suit, but cheap looking leather will make an expensive outfit look cheap too.

After leather you spend your money on jackets and pants. Less expensive blouses, dresses, & skirts will look & fit better ~~~ whereas jackets & pants need to be well tailored to fit.

One more thing that I have learned about dressing. Heard Joan Rivers say on QVC shopping channel that all her tops & pants are black except for jeans & white blouses. She said it made dressing easier for her. Jackets & accessories could be any color. I do that now and she was right. I can pull together an outfit just by choosing which jacket to wear. I do miss seeing her on QVC ~~~ that woman knew fashion.

Have a blessed day, Sara

Joanna what a cute outfit! You look lovely! :)

Sara I heard Jamie Lee Curtis say something similar. I think she switched all of her clothing to black and white. Most of the day for me I'm in workout clothes. I put that on first thing in the morning so that I'm dressed for whenever it can happen! After that I take a shower (sometimes this doesn't happen until right before dinner) and usually put on a dress or skirt. Almost always they're a little hippy looking. I prefer dresses because they're so easy.

Amy (Song Sparrow), I don't always wear long skirts. I often wear pencil skirts that fall below the knee. Sara, I love shoes and handbags so that sounds great! Thanks everyone for the compliments. :)

I had to chuckle at the title of this, I'm wearing my pajamas! I love your outfit on you. Who says country girls can't be fashionable. Today I'll be out in the garden. I wear jeans and a t-shirt. Not so glamorous, but it works.

Hi girls, Mary Beth, thanks for the tip on skirt length, I think it's going to work for me! Alicia, I love your picture, you look like queen of the garden! Today I'm be wearing my "uniform" of tee shirt and yoga pants. Not very exciting but on days I have my granddaughter (she's 2) I have to be dressed for action! But I'm really excited to wear my brand new Farmgirl Sisterhood necklace, which came yesterday!

Joanna, you look lovely and I think very fashionable for girls lunch date!

Alicia, love the apron in the garden. I should do that more myself!

Today, I'm wearing knee length pants and tank top . . . it's summer and I'm going to town for errands. Pretty much what is worn in this community . . . in town . . . on a summer day!

Today it's yoga pants and a tee for me. I'm going to physical therapy and they'll be yanking on my leg and stuff. I found a pair of linen Capri pants at the thrift store and find them to be the perfect summer pants for regular days. I like them so much I'm going to try to make a pattern from them. Linen is great when it's hot!

Happy Day!

It's capris, blue and white striped tee, and Birkenstocks for me. Hair is up in a crazy bun! Wearing a zip up grey hoodie because it is cold in the man controlled thermostat of an office!

I love your look! I need some more "prairie skirts" like that. I usually wear leggings, jeans, jeggings... And a Cardigan or my granny sweater over a T-shirt, over a cami. Always. Comfort is my main concern.
