Hi Sisters! I also posted this on the Stitching/Crafting site:

Would any of you crafty people happen to be or know fiber artists who could make use of some free alpaca fiber? I have at least 100lbs, collected over many years, straight off the animal, not cleaned or skirted.
I have whites, fawns and browns, first cuts and seconds. It spins up beautifully or can be felted. All suri alpaca.

Depending on how far its going, we may discuss shipping arrangements. It really needs a new home before little bugs start to move in.

Woohoo! I think I'm more glad than either of you! Let's talk about how much, what color and so on. Right now its bagged up by animal in large garbage bags but I won't make anyone take more than they want.

Bleeni, do you have your own Romeldales?

Anywhere between 15-20 pounds of the darkest hair would be awsome.

There's an alpaca farm up here and they make the most beautiful alpaca ponchos. I would love to make one for my trips into the cascades.

Charity, I can put together an assortment of darks which could either be blended together or used separately as stripes in a poncho. I can't come up with 15-20lbs of the same animal. Interested?

Hi! If you still have some that needs a new home I would really like to practice cleaning and carding. I do have a drop spindle that I may spin it on after that or just use it for felting but mainly I want to work on the processing of it! I have no color or type preference and would be happy to take whatever anyone else doesn't want. Perhaps whatever would fit in a large flat rate box that I could pay for? (Easiest and quickest way to get it here). Thanks :)

Hi:
I have just started with three sheep. They are Romeldale CVM's. I'll have them sheared next month. I got them from a wonderful couple that have their own mini mill. I would have any fiber you are willing to send my way processed through the mill. I have been using roving to make those huge knitted/crocheted blankets, scarves and ponchos! I love working with big fiber! Yay!!!

Hay there, Mz Sara,

Is there any fiber left? If so, I would love to have some. I am about to purchase several sheep for fiber and yours would give me a good start with some fiber that I won't have to wait to grow. Let me know.....and thanks for the offering.

Hugs and prayers, Daizy #1093

Okay friends so here's the deal. I will send Charity some dark for a poncho. Bleeni, I will pick out a nice white blanket for you to try out. I love a fiber fanatic who raises her own animals!! And Daizy, kudos for taking the same leap! Hope you enjoy shepherding! I'll choose one for you too. It would be really great if you guys can help with the shipping. I have someone who wants all of it and is willing to cover shipping, and obviously it would be much easier to put it all in the mail to one address. But I can't help but be so tickled that so many of you want some and I don't mind spreading the fun around.
On that note, I have 5 fiber alpacas that get shorn each spring, so by June I will have more, if you get addicted to the stuff!
I can't get those packages moving in the mail til next week, so I'll contact each of you when I have yours packed up and we can figure it out then. In the meantime, feel free to email me your shipping address.
Thanks all! I would mark this posting TAKEN if I knew how! Have a happy weekend!

I will be glad to send your the cost of postage. I will email you my address.

I believe to make changes to your post you go up to the original post and one of the little emogies (icons) up there is to edit. Change the title and that should do it.

Thanks.

I had a merino sheep a few years back and I have a lot of her wool that I am carding. if you ever have any again I will be willing to pay shiping so that I could add it to my merino since it is very thin. so, anytime in the future I would be will to take some also and pay the shipping.
