Give thanks, and your heart will thank you back, according to a study on the journal Spirituality in Clinical Practice. Inflammation and irregular heart rhythms can increase heart attack risk, but researchers found that participants who had some form of heart damage, whether from a heart attack or years of high blood pressure, had lower levels of inflammation and better heart rhythms after two months of keeping a gratitude journal. The participants were also I'm. Better overall health than people who didn't keep a journal. Take a few minutes every day for your heart. Reflect on what you are grateful for, even if it's as simple as a good dinner or a loyal four-legged friend.

I'm going to let my mother-in-law know about this. She had a heart attack just last week. Thank goodness it was mild.

Susan, I have read the information you've posted. Thank you. How true. I live in a community with a lot of senior citizens, and I hear them discussing Gratitude often. Marly

Hi Susan,
This is an excellent topic. I am now a firm believer in doing a daily gratitude testimonial. Whether, verbally or in written form. Both do a great job at making you stop the negative thoughts and end the day on a positive note.
My new subscription box is called the "Happiness Box"! and it is filled with great inspiration to help you find your Happy Place.
Thanks for sharing!

I do this every day, Susan. I don't keep a journal of gratitude, but I sure do count my blessings and thank the Lord every day! How appropriate that loving gratitude, which originates from the heart, has a healing, healthy affect on the heart itself! A profound, life-giving exercise, indeed! Hugs - Nini

Susan thanks for the information. I am now working up a rejouvenation program for myself. this is one thing I needed to be reminded to ad. I had a mild stroke in feb and had a lot of setbacks but trying to keep myself positive. too easy to get down and discouraged. this is something I did when my son was just starting school we homeschooled. we started our day listing things we were grateful for.. was a very positive habit especially to teach a child.

Theresa so could to hear from you.
I don't write down what I am thankful for but I do acknowledge it either verbally or silently throughout the day or at night before I fall asleep.
