Oh lucky me! I got my mail art from Becky today and just look how adorable it is!!! The sweet sewn bird pot holder with their little house, the crack-me-up vintage card (really, it is THAT crazy cute)and the mint candy I will hold myself back til after dinner to enjoy-I have a HUGE sweet tooth. She incorporated her song with the bluebirds singing "zippidy-do-da..." such a clever package. Thank-you Becky Messer!!!

My mail art will go out probably Fri. . . It's funny how you think you have the perfect idea and as you progress, the project totally "morphs" into something so different. Reminds me of writing papers and how far the final copy would end up from the first draft. Ah, those were the days. . . this is so much "fun-er" than writing essays for a grade.

Chella, Thank you so much for the wonderful little box and the very interesting rocks. Love to read about their history. I just had no idea what was in that package. It made me smile. I am going to use the box for my favorite travel treasures. Thank you again.
The card reads: Petoskey Stone
This interesting stone is a variety of calcite. If was formed by the fossilization of ancient coral, Hexagonaria. The coral lived in shallow waters and today's fossil often includes ancient silt and mud. Petoskey Stones are found on many beaches of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, as well as in rock quarries from Traverse City to Alpene. The honeycomb patterned stone has a hardness from 4 to 5 and is the official Michigan State Stone.

Thank you Jayme for the mail art goodies. You could not have known that poppies are my absolute favorite flower; there was definitely a little magic involved in this exchange The seeds and seed pods (which I like to use for decorating and art) were a true delight. Flowers seeds are the gift that keeps on giving, as I will think of you as I spread the seeds and then again when I see the blooms.

My sister's mailart went out today. Should arrive by 5/5 according to USPS. Had so much fun dreaming/planning this one. Unfortunately, so many things going on around here it didn't go out as planned, but nevertheless, it's gone and en route to my April sister!
