This will be my first swap to host... I hope I do it right! I was wondering if anyone would be interested in participating in exchanging an altered file folder pocket!?
I have attached a few pictures of ones I created recently... I have fallen in love with them! The first few pictures are of a file folder pocket I created for a friend, you will see it was my first attempt to coffee stain paper, I used a lace ribbon and a paper punch to semi enclose the sides to create the pocket effect. I also decorated the front and used a light layer of modge podge to cover the vintage French book page to help keep it in tact, as old papers tend to be brittle. I then placed a few goodies inside the pocket which consisted of stationery items, and few other small and flat goodies, some purchased, some hand made, tied twine around it to help keep the inserted goodies in the pocket during shipment. I also included a handwritten letter sealed with wax to go with the nostalgic theme I tried to create.
I've also attached a few pictures of a couple others I have made that are currently sitting on my desk looking pretty and waiting for their purposes in life! I've thought about using these file folder pockets as a sort of keepsake holder for different items, special cards, letters, family history, travel memories, children's art pieces. Just a few ideas! I will leave theme and décor to your discretion, just create something you would love to receive and please include 2-3 small items inside the pocket, everyone loves a little surprise!

April your work is beautiful. This swap interests me. I have yellow school folders would it be possible to sub them for the file folders if so I am in.

Thank you, Becky, glad you're joining us! I would ** love ** to see one of the examples you found in that craft book that was left behind just for you if you're able to take a picture or scan and email or attache a picture here on this thread - if not, no worries. I've not had much luck finding any others on line yet and I've been searching! I love to find other inspirations! I've found some memory file folders, but not pockets... although, I think I may be trying a memory file folder next! Have a beautiful day!

Nancy you inspire me to keep at it. I ditched the yellow school folder because I couldn't come up with a color scheme I liked. Found a vanilla file folder hiding under some old magazines. Working with the softer color I came up with a theme and colors so I'm working on it today. I'm using multi-mediums which I like to do - fabric - paper - ribbon and of course buttons. Hope to have it finished by the time I know who my partner is. Have a few things gathered up for filling the folder but I need a couple of more things.
