Hey CeeJay... here is my tartan plaid jug...
sooo... I was taking photos and hubby walks by and says...'what are you doing?'... I reply: "taking pictures of my Jugs"... hubby looks at me and then breaks out laughing... Seriously!!! it took me a moment then I too started laughing...(to clarify...(jugs means tatas or boobies..)
I have 4 vtg. jugs...
luv these2 from the late 1950 early 60's
Can't find any info on this one,,, it has a red lid.
don't have any info on this one,, the tin 'cup' is the size of a soup bowl... and the jug is quit heavy.... It doesn't have a pour spigot like the other three.... so I am thinking it was to hold soup as the opening is wide enough for a medium size ladel.

sooooo I did a wee bit of research...
The (pic#1-left side) tall dark jug is from the 1920's,, by 'Stanley-Sani company. It has a thick glass inner side and when you remove the tin bowl, it has a tin cover w/a rubber ring(like a canning jar)...
The green plaid one is by the 'Porolon' company, back in the 1950'60's... it has a ceramic inner side.
My lil sliver one has a wooden handle and bakealite type lid and spout cap... it was made by the K & M company.

Are these containers/jugs original purchase, handed down to you, or yard sale finds? They are so cool looking!

Jana,, oh gosh,,, I hope not an original purchase... !920's... or I'd be older then the Hills up here! lol!
I found three at various Thrifts back in Washington... the big black one I got from the 'shopgoodwill' on-line auction... I won it for $5.95 plus tax.. so for under $9 I scored it... and I found several currently listed for sale at on-line sales for between $70 to $89 so I feel really good about that,,, but have no planes to sell it... the other three average between $24 to $35 on ebay I luv using these for deco around my vtg trailers.

Ha, ha, very funny but I didn't mean to insinuate. Good for you Grace, great buys, and they will look so cute as decoration, unless of course you plan on using them!
