I am down sizing our store. Very daunting, so much to donate, sell, and trash. Then to do the very same to my dad's home, as he has moved to a nursing home. All is very overwhelming.

I do remember cleaning out my mother's home. Then again when she passed away, again. But not a store too. Prayers for you. How is your dad adjusting to nursing home life?

Had to move Dad to a home when he was 89. He was so,angry with me, but he was no longer safe at home either. Hubby and I used to pack up his cat after church for a 20 minute visit each week. The cat was in charge of the visit length. Highlight of his week.
He had a great spirit and I think he had his nursing aids wrapped around his finger.... Prayers for you and your Dad

We have an audio/ video store as well as a sporting store mostly softball and baseball. Dad is adjusting to the home well but misses home. All his nurses love his always smiling face. He seizes and has memory issues so it's unsafe to be alone. Just very hard on me mentally as well as physically. His home is 5 hours from my house making it really hard. The nursing home is very close to me, so I can visit often. Plus there's guilt on not having him here. But I homeschool my girls and have my 5 grandkids here SO often that I don't think I could do it all.

Kelly...you sure have your platter full. I think its great you have him closer to you at least. I admire you for all you are coping with! My sister lived 15 minutes from mom when she was getting worse and I was 5 states away! It did take an awful toll on my sister and she had no kids or grand kids to care for and no store!! So its great you have help! Never feel guilty. The last thing we older folks really want is our children taking care of us. Believe me...we would rather just go to sleep peacefully without stressing our families. Hugs and prayers to you hon. Hang in there!

Patsy, I received you wonderful package yesterday and love the ATC. Thank you and thank you for the stamps, they will come in handy and the ribbon, tape, the feather charms are so pretty. I just received your ATC Dianna! A great bundle of leaves... Makes me want to jump right in and scattered everything (like when I was a young kid :) My kids will start soon since it is already changing colors here. Tuesday, we had 29C degree and today, 6C degree !?! Lovely weather but now, I can start unpacking all our Autumn gear without being stared at! -^-^-

We had Fall temps yesterday!! Look what came in the mail box! I love how Debbie (Blessed in Colorado) decorated her envelope! I just loved pulling it out of the mailbox!  Debbie, I love my card and tea and the fabric piece with corn on it!! Your ATC speaks Fall to me! Love it!! Thanks!!
