On Friday my little guy turned 2 and I decided to make him a cake for his birthday. We had a digger/construction theme so I had my first attempt at decorating a cake! I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! Now I'm excited to keep making birthday cakes for my kids. I still have a lot to learn though!

Nicely done and cute. Better watch those little hands - he'll want to drive that dump truck all over his cake.

Thanks! It was so much fun!

Sara, he actually couldn't wait until I would let him have the trucks! That's all he cared about!

Lol yes it was made for a boy! He is a huge dirt magnet and loves playing outside with trucks and diggers! Just like Farmgirls!

Thank you! I have to give my credit to Pinterest though. That's where I found the idea.

It's wonderful! You'll love making your kids cakes. Just remember it's perfect in their eyes and they'll be so proud that you made it for them.

My mother introduced me to cake decorating at the age of 12. I've loved it since. Now my grandchildren request that I make their cakes for them. They pick out what they want and I deliver. Some don't quite measure up to Pinterest, but I give it a shot. Loads of fun trying.
