Mary, I remember that saying! Lol! If I only had a place for everything!
I hope you are feeling better as well as your husband. The flu has been going around in our area too! How is your cat? Hopefully better too!

Hey Diana, If it is any consolation, I have been sewing for years and still make knotted messes all the time! Machines have a mind of their own at times! So happy you had a friend to help you through it all! Friends are gold!!

It will be fine Sabrina! I understand frustration, I'm not seasoned with the sewing machine and I made a knotted up mess in my own, clearly I did something wrong! Thankfully, a good friend is going to help me sort it out Friday! Looking forward to photos of this project :)

Grandmas are so special! Love it! My grandmother would always look my things over and point out this and that, that 'should have been' done another way! Lol! She was a spectacular seamstress and quilter!

I'm sorry Sherry, I did not make it to the post office before it closed on the 9th, but it went out this morning! My sewing friend helped me, she had an idea that deviated from the instructions, and I liked it - hope you do as well! It was a bonus, Farmgirl project & afternoon spent with a friend! I tease her that she is my personal sewing coach :)
Thinking of more uses, would be great when the car seat is either too hot or cold; with babies or toddlers around, a place to sit, nap or warm up; a sturdy cloth for holding a guinea pig or bunny in your lap; forgot a bag, tie things up inside; and when I showed it to my Gram, she mis-understood what I said and unfolded it and covered her legs while cozied up in her chair with the tv on! Then when I explained it again, she looked it over more closely, then switched to a crocheted lap robe, haha

Have a great day Farmgirls! Looking forward to seeing how everyone's ideas came out!

Diana

Deb I love my Shilly Shally! Thank you! (I love the fabric you chose. I have made bag tubes to hold Walmart bags, and dish drainer quilts...all as gifts for local friends...And am so happy to finally have something of my own from this delightful fabric.

So glad you like it! It just looked so 'cheery' to me! Sure to perk up your day type fabric! I like that it is kind of vintage looking too! Enjoy!

Thank you Sherry, I love the ShillyShally you made for me! I don't think the photo shows so well, but is is beautiful! A deep, warm red with tiny polka dots complimented with just the right lace. Also spoiled me with some surprise tucks as well. Of course I brought it to show my Gram, and she loved it as well, even complimented your stitching :) As soon as I put it around my shoulders I was reminded of the ladies in Westerns and old tv shows and they often had a similar piece. What do you think they called it? I know shawls were more common, but it did finally trigger a memory of fabric ones. My Grandmother will be 97 in May, and when I modeled it, she said her grandmother always wore one. "It was drafty in the house you know, with only the wood stove".

I have a white cotton blouse with a high collar and pleats in the front, so with this beautiful ShillyShally, I have a Valentine outfit! Thanks again Sherry (spoiler alert, yours is more utilitarian, than beautiful)

Wild Rags! Now days that is what they are called. Some 30 years ago I saw them in a Cattle Kate catologue. We bought a wild rag for our grand daughter for Christmas. She wears it to work, when she works at the Western store.

Ah, Christy. I was thinking about redoing mine., after seeing some of the others. I spent this afternoon doing taxes..stressful enough, even for a simple return. Ha Ha! Maybe another trip to the store tomorrow... take your time...no stress.
