Christmas is coming--it has been weird since I lost my son to cancer. Now I am dealing with two good friends dying of this disease. And...hubby has been diagnosed with B cell lymphoma. He's losing his hair. Chemo very aggressive, very tough on his body. It's like a nightmare. I put on a happy holiday face for the family but some days are spent crying. Not sure why..the tears just come out.

Sylvia, I am so sorry for the lost of your son. I lost my only child, my 43 year old son last year so I know the deep sorrow you deal with each and every day. Time goes on but the grief is constant. My prayers are with you, your DH, and friends. May the Lord watch over you and keep you. May he give you peace and your love ones healing.

I am so very sorry. I don't think you should even expect yourself to be happy this Christmas. Of course you are crying. I spent years decorating a lot and having holiday dinners for the family. Now it is just me and hubby and I no longer do a lot---just simple things. Allow yourself to grieve---this is not a good Christmas for you. Just enjoy it as much as you can and don't expect to feel joyous this year. Be kind to yourself. I totally understand your sorrow. I send you hugs and prayers. God bless you and keep you. I no longer find the joy I used to in Christmas---but I do find peace in the beauty of the season. We are never the same after the death of loved ones. We become different people and grow and change.

Hi Sylvia,
You are allowed to give yourself time to grieve. You have had a rough time. I can't imagine what you went through and are still enduring. Prayers and strength to heal for your husband and your heart. Hopefully the new year will bring you new joy.
