Wow Connie! 11 inches! That's crazy. We got a pretty big snow storm on Wednesday but it wasn't 11 inches. I hope you are all surviving the weather. Can't wait to see your photos.

Let me introduce myself. I am Debbie from SW Virginia. I have been a farmgirl all my life. I love the outdoors, cooking, crafting, photography, history, and love animals. I do not practice farming anymore, but I do live on a farm in a renovated barn. I love all things farm. I am a retired school teacher of 33 years and work part time at our local museum. I love trying new things and can't wait to earn some badges. I can't wait to hear from my new sisters.

Welcome Debbie! I'm so happy you stopped by and introduced yourself. You have definitely come to the right place. There are so many wonderful Farmgirls here who share the same interests as you. I personally love crafting and I'm a big lover of animals. Which badges do you think you will start on? I hope to get to know you more. I will be looking around the forum for you!

Krista, I am working on the knitting badge first. Many years in high school, I had a substitute teacher who taught us to knit using pencils. I never did anything with this skill, so now I have the urge to try again. I found a cute baby hat to make since in a month I will be blessed with two new great nephews. At the rate I am going, the babies may be grown. Just kidding, I am very slow at this but enjoying it. Then I think I will work on the aprons. My grandmother always wore an apron and I just loved them. Unfortunately, I did not get any of hers when she passed, but I still have the memories. Can you see a pattern here? Crafty section first, then on to the others, unless I change my mind, which is often. Debbie #7826

Welcome Deborah and Connie86413, it sounds like you are both going to really enjoy it here on the farm, I sure do, their are so many ladies who craft like you do and even have swaps with the crafts they do. There is some beautiful work out there and they are helpful too. Connie your animals are beautiful, I bet they are so sweet. Deborah I bet you your new little great nephews will look adorable in those little hats.
Well enjoy the farm, it is great here! Have a good day Hugs and love Darlene

Oh my goodness, Connie! That sure is a lot of snow. But it looks very beautiful and peaceful. I love the feeling of standing out in the snow in the silence and just hearing the snow fall. Definitely clears my mind.

Hi everyone, I am a farm girl returning from exile after 30 years. I am living my dream of returning to the farm I grew up on. I love the magazine because it celebrates the little things I took for granted before moving away from the country. We have 3 tiny dogs and a horse, so far. Chickens are next, I think. I love sewing, crafting, reading, scrapbooking and, of course, riding my new horse around the farm. Learning to garden, too. Eagerly waiting for spring to stick around here in NW PA. Winter just doesn't want to let go.

Welcome Lois! It's so wonderful to have you join us! Your farm sounds lovey and you have a good start on animals. What kind of dogs do you have? I am hoping to add some chickens to our family someday too. I hope to see you around the forum and be sure to share some of your sewing and crafts projects. I would love to see them!
