I spotted this on pintrest.. I think it's a great idea.
It's a thick mil, garden bag,, How perfect, and at the end of the year, easy to empty and put away until next garden season.

I love that! Wonder if I will come across some! I am converting a plastic storage shelf that needed to be moved and had some damage but a good frame and shelves to divide the beds. Pictures soon.

I am starting to get raised beds. I have an old water tank, that i filled with rock and dirt. I put in some spring veggies in it. Will replace with maybe basil or something, once the veggies are done. I also have an old freezer end bunker from a grocery store. It is small, but i put lettuce in there. I work for a refrigeration company and say those small bunkers and thought hummm. This bag would be handy to use too. alot of good ideas out there.

You girls amaze me. I guess if it will hold soil and has good drainage anything can be used for raised beds.

That would make for a cute little garden for the kids when they start growing their own! I could divide it into 3 sections and let each kid plant what they want to grow. I'm pretty sure I know what each kid would grow! We would for sure have flowers, broccoli, and carrots lol! A favorite of each.

Krista, that would be beautiful and make you smile, if you did that with the kids.

I love this! I have also seen where people are recycling the kiddie pools (with drilled holes in the bottom for drainage) for a similar look.

Diana, I have seen the potting soil bag idea... and am actually thumbing about planting potatoes that way... I planted potatoes last year out buy my bulb garden, but the taters didn't grow well ... so I Just harvested them early and we ate 'fingerlings' which are good...

I have done potatoes in this fashion but the bag size is determining factor to size. They won't get baker size. Diana

Ahhh... and I am to impatient to wait! Lol! I usually cook with small(fingerlings) to med size taters, mostly I use taters for German potato salad. I did not grow up with the big taters that get baked and then covered in a sauce (butter/sour cream/cheese) ... We ate small boiled potatoes and potato salad..
During WWII my mother and her family (and community) survived on potatoes so when she moved to the US she had had her fill of them... lol! Corn was also another veggi not found in our home, as it was considered pig (live stock) feed... and I luv corn ... so I must be quit the little piggy! Snorks-n-gigles!

I love this simple way to have a contained garden for whatever you wish. Plus you can control weeds a bit better as well.
Grace, when we were recently in Italy's Alpine area, it is very German as it was once part of Austrian-Hungarian empire. The restaurant menus were full of boiled potatoes and potato salad as sides to whatever meat was used. And I really didn't see any corn on menus either! But, let's talk about their Apful Strudel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still the best!!
