Ok, we luv to Kayak, but with a demanding dog,, we needed a different mode of water transportation.. lol!
we bought a paddle boat.
we went paddle boating this morning and Ginger gave it 2 paws up!
Once home, we put it out on the lawn to hose off the lake gunk then we put it out in the barn till our next outing.
Tomorrow we will head back to the lake to kayak, with out Ginger...
Then on Monday we head over to Newport, on the boarder of Wash & Idaho for a week of Glamping..
I will miss my sewing room... but will bring some hand stitching projects to keep me out of mischief! lol!

Love the paddle boat - they are great exercise.
I take my Featherweight in the motorhome - why don't you take a sewing machine with you glamping?

Grace, your dog looks so much like my Lilly Mae that got killed. What a little beauty. Paddle boats are so fun. We have one too. Great way to get in a workout.

Grace, how did the glamping trip go? Were you in Newport WA? If so, how did you like the area? I only ask because I have a friend who moved up there a year ago and I haven't been up to visit her yet.

We love paddle boating. Great way to get exercise, cruise the lake or sometimes in our case the stock dam without the noise of a motor.

Did you get the paddle boat at Tractor Supply? I saw them there here in Texas. If we decide to build a house on Ed's property, he has 2 ponds, so we will probably get one for exercise there.

Grace---is there anything that you don't do? I wish I had your energy and enthusiasm. You must have been hyper as a child---LOL of course! I used to love paddle boating but I would not have the energy to go far now. Old age and laziness is slowly taking over my mind and body.

Grace, that looks so fun! I haven't been in a paddle boat before. I will have to try it out. And Ginger is just so adorable in her cute pink life jacket. She has the best seat in the house and is surely loved!

I am thinking that would be a great birthday present for Ed - but I will probably get it early or late since we leave for our cruise on the Danube a few days after his birthday.

That's a beautiful boat! I love paddling around in one. Years ago I had bought one for my parents cabin in pink. I logged many a happy mile on the Chippewa Flowage in WI with it.
Have a fun trip with perfect weather to paddle around in!

Jan, yes, Newport WA...
It's a nice little community and on the hoarder of Old Town ID.
but... it gets colder then Spokane due to the elivation.
plus the nearest hospital is about 25-30miles town in Spokane.
As for jobs, very limited due to it being a recreational tourist area.
Just down the road is Diamond Lake so if you like to fish, either lake is good. Oh and yes there is a Starbucks, McDonalds and Burger King in town...lol!

Linda... yes we got it at Tractor Supply.
We LUV T.S., but the nearest one is over in Couer D' Arlene, ID., about a 30min drive from us but worth it!
We had to tilt it slightly in the back of the Pick up truck to get it home and to the Lake. It takes the 2 of us to get itinerant and out of the water...so be sure to eat your Wheaties! Lol!

Sounds wonderful Grace and thanks for the detailed information, now that I am retired I really need to get up there to visit. My friend, and MJF sister, lives a mile or two from Diamond Lake. She moved there from Southern California a year ago and loves the community.

Girls, if you have a people friendly body of water near you.. get a paddy boat for you and your sweetie.
It's a great source of relaxing exercise and a great way to spend an afternoon with your sweetish.
