Oh Good Stars!!! I am up to my eyeballs in strip quilts.. now I need to make a dash to the fabric store to get the backing...

I have to get these finished asap, I only have 12 days before my BFF arrives.. as I won't be able to get any crafting done for the following 4 weeks while she is here...

Grace, too many quilt strips awaiting a backing to be moving towards completion sounds like the perfect kind of "problem" to have!! LOL!! Looking forward to seeing these cuties finished up and how you plan to use them.

Grace - Would it be okay if we bring our motorhome and stay for 4 weeks? Too hot here.
And then we could sew together. LOL! JK We're looking for a cool place to go.

Got the backing fabric today,, tomorrow will be a 'sweat shop' in my sewing room! hahaha!
Linda,, come on up, just don't bring the heat, we have our own..lol!
What you don't see, is under that stack is a quilt that I started last Christmas... it's either a UFO or a WIP... hahaha!
Lori, Irmgard, is not a lover of sewing but she does like to crochet, I suspect we will get a little bit of both done while she is here..

grace- I love to crochet, too. I found the books on my sewing machine as I know almost nothing about how to run the thing. I am bound and determined to learn to sew. I'm very excited about it. I want to make the pillowcase bloomers. I think they are so cute. I love all the pictures you post on the crafts you do. It really is a motivation for me.

Krista,, crackin' the whip!
I just finished machine stitching the binding on,,, on 3 of the 4 quilts... I will have to wait until after my guests leave to work on the Christmas one..
but for now, all I have left to do is hand stitch down the binding and then the 3 made from my Maryjane fabric stash..
I am having 'sew' much fun!!!

I spent the day filling out forms for our upcoming quilt show. No big quilts this time, just five smaller ones. Over the past dozen years I've made about 100 quilts. Quilting the larger ones on my domestic machine has just gotten too much for me so I've downsized and made just mini quilts for the past year or so. They are so much fun and saved me from getting totally burned out on quilting. I still have too much fabric left to quilt altogether but I did donate a big bag of fabric and stuff to the guilds country store booth at the show..Time to downsize in many ways.

Judith, true.. it can be very easy to get overwhelmed and tired of quilting... I have had to 'downsize' mine to...
I finished up 3 of the 4 quilts I just started.. and 2 are in the mail.. and the 3rd one is in my trailer.. The Christmas themed one,, I will get back to in September after my house guests leave.
Whew!
